A sell crowd of over 400 consoles gamers witnessed some of the most fiercely contested Xbox 360 tournaments ever featured at what has now become a truly international event with the top placings being contested by gamers from across the UK and Europe.

Yep £400 per player for winning Halo3 isnt bad and over 100% of tournament entry fees make up the £8750 prize fund!

Hopefully one day myself and the staff will actually get paid for doing these events!

i know they dont get paid but what exactly is your policy on referees playing? for example can i play in the Gears tourney and referee in the CoD4 (as long as i dont ref for my same clan) or is it referees cant play for any team on any game? if its the former i wouldnt mind being a ref on CoD4 when i come to the next one to play Gears (hopefully if it isnt dropped). obviously its still a long way away and details will be put up closer to the time but just thought id ask.

We have allowed refs to enter tournaments but it has been causing a few problems so we may be looking at that policy for future events.

in that case i think u'd struggle to get enough refs if the only thing they came to XL for was to ref all day and not to play. especially if u were struggling this time round when they could play. not much incentive to come just to ref imo.

not at all, i want to go to xl for the social side, being a staff would be the best thing for me, if im allowed and can make it to an XL for once although im doing stuff in the background that may be used for xl, just got exams first

lucky people who won though, hope they spend the cash on something decent and not waste it on a video game
