Ask for the manager straight away and then ask what the hell he is going to do about it. Say you are building this PC for a clinet and you are losing

I have a feeling you may have fell into the trap of online purchasing esp for pcs. Are they in anyway related to savastore.com?

I would demand compensation in terms of a discount or free upgrade. Shoutin at them wont do any good so be stern but diplomatic n see what you can get out of them.

I'm a reasonable guy free P+P to offset my wasted Valentine's [any excuse ;)] and a refund of the RAM with the stuf arriving on Friday will do me.
I have a feeling I will have to **** someones ear though before the ball starts moving.

I rang them up and asked why I was e-mailed at gone 8ppm the night before delivery that the delivery wouldnt be happening.
"The RAM you ordered was not in stock"
The RAM was on stock when I ordered.
"Our website clearly says that your order is not picked [basically stamped with your name on it] until we get the papers back from V12 [finance company]."
What has that got to do with anything?
"Sir, [*patronising voice] until we get the papers through we do not group your items, so what happened was the RAM that you wanted was sold because your papers were not through."
Right... Firstly that is really bad business practice, the mere fact that I have expressed a serious interest in that product means you should have 'Picked' it or whatever you want to call it. Now I can see why in theses days you didn't bother to do that but...
"Sir, it is because your finance papers were not confirmed so we did not put together your order, and your RAM was out of stock."
No listen to me, V12 contacted ME via e-mail telling me that 'Dear Harris, We are happy to inform you that we have received your signed finance agreement. We have now advised the supplier that they are now able to process your order.' As received on the 9th of February.
The NINTH OF FEBRUARY WOMAN, that means that you had your papers on the ninth, do you know what todays date is?
"[pause] erm the 14th?"
Yes which means that last night was the 13th correct?
"Yes sir"
So from the 9th whereby my order, according to you, not me, should have been picked where it clearly wasn't as you'd have noticed the RAM was out of stock, but you then didn't bother to check on the 10th or the 11th or the 12th and instead decided to email me that my order, which I remind you according to you should have been done on the 9th at 20:10 the night before I am expecting delivery of my goods.
"Well we-"
No it's not acceptable, I don't care about why your company cannot organise a delivery I want to know what you are going to do about it.
"Well I could backorder the RAM for you sir and deliver the rest of the order to you tomorrow?"
Well of course you are going to deliver it tomorrow, you havent exactly impressed me with that, should I be happy or something that it is only a day late after paying

They still do not realise what the problem is, I do not particularly care that I have to wait, I do not particularly care that the RAM was out of stock.
I care that they think e-mailing someone at gone 8pm the night before that the ram is out of stock when I have had several emails throughout the course of the week telling me that it is in stock and is fine [thus making the email back BS]. The fact that I am somehow made out to be a retard because of their "picking" policy, which unknown the girl I was arguing with should have been done on the 9th as well, and that they think that charging me 2xP+P for one delivery "because" is acceptable, and that I should actually be happy with their customers service because throughout all this I get it 24 hours [remains to be seen] later.
SCANS customer service = Double charge for P+P, 24 hour delay on goods and failing to tell you when components are out of stock. That is what they have done for me.
If anthing goes wrong here I am going to cancel the finance within the 14 days cooling off period and sue them for my wasted time and cost of arranging the finance through https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp and/or the small claims court.

So basically you managed to get nothin in way of compensation?
When savastore managed to royally screw up the order for my bros pc, I got a free processor upgrade n a useless memory stick...but it all ended up in a refund cos they managed to upgrade the processor but not address the issue of only half the RAM being installed which is what we paid for in the first place! :D
Does this problem happen quite often with Scan computers? because I may be buying pc parts from them in the future.

this is why i use ebuyer, amazon, play and misco, yes, on misco its expensive, but you pay for a quailty service, well, i think you do, and its the same for the rest of the sites

Thank you for your swift e-mail, I am not particularly upset that the RAM is delayed, I understand these things happen I am more annoyed with the fact that as of the 9th of February whereby SCAN was informed that my money was good to go [as according to V12 finance via e-mail]. That no one checked stock there and then, if authorisation of payment has been completed then SCAN should pick my order there and then to proof against these stock issues. In either case an e-mail at 8pm the night before is smply not acceptable, no matter what the reason I am sure you would agree. I do not mind waiting for the RAM so I can build an actually usable PC but I am deeply insulted that SCAN as an indication of goodwill [lack off] through this are unwilling to merge my two orders and refund my second orders P+P. Reason being that my first order was paid for on finance, I fail to see what that has to do with anything, I don't care what the technical issues are with that or the limitations of what customer services PC system will let them do, discounting the case I purchased by P+P and refunding me would mean the same to me and is surely possible at your end.
If you would like to keep my custom in future which I can assure you is set to be a significant amount of revenue then resolving this matter for me would actually show goodwilling and go some way to reversing the negative effect this experience has had on my and many other readers [ Driverheaven.net] impression of SCAN.
If this is not possible then SCAN simply loses my interest as a consumer, and should anything else compound the issues that I have I will terminate my finance with V12 and let SCAN pick up the pieces.
Once again, thank you for taking an interest in the issue SCAN is halfway there to fixing this for me already with your e-mail.
HBW
That is my response which is fair enough.
Yeah at the end of it all I got **** all from SCAN, but cancelling the finance is a pain in the ass, their goodwilling ****ing stinks though and as I sent to them, should anything else go wrong then thats it, I will cancel the finance and they can come pick up any and all equipment, used or not at their own cost and I will defend myself through claims court and scream to any media that will listen how **** they are.

I was getting the most perfect motherboard from scan but they sold out right as i was processing payment, and it's discontinued. So ihad to buy some shitty ECS Elitegroup motherboard. Hardly as bad as your situation, but i was mighty pissed off.
Good to see you standing your ground, i always get the impression that the companies simply just dont give a ****, from the depo to the customer service to the delivery courriors they use.
