a few weeks ago my 360 scratched Double Agent, and its un-playable on one level. So I left it.

Today its hapend on Lost Planet and it wont even start! It's totally fecked it.

I'm well brassed off. Been sat on hold waiting for MS now for the last 20 mins.

Anyone else had any probs with the disc drive doing dammage to software?

Ouch thats really unlucky! The only problem I had was when I stupidly stood my xbox 360 infront of Liam's TV whilst playing Perfect Dark and it got kicked over leaving a huge mark on the disc :p

I accidentally knocked over DayCs 360 and it scratched the game inside :|

How long have you had your 360?

A year. funnilly enough the 360 woke me up last night opening and closing the disc drive. I had to unplug it to make it stop. and just before it scratched it today it opend the disc tray while I was playing the game.

Just got off the phone with MS now. Told me they cant replace the game. but they want me to send the console in for repairs.

I'm that pissed off I think I wont even bother.

This is how my 360 problems started. I knocked over my 360 and it suddenly turned into a lawnmower so I quickly turned it off. Pulled out my Oblivion disk and it was in shreds, I rang M/S and they also said they wanted me to send it in to repair (what happened was the disk reader had basically come out of place so wasn't reading any games at this point) but they wouldn't replace games. I got my 360 back, plugged it in and was all excited to be able to play my 360 again. *Turns on 360, red lights flash.. black screen* What a joke, I get it 'repaired' and it doesn't work, nice one m/s! So I send it off again, get one back *Turns on 360, red lights flash.. "Your HDD is corrupt"* What the holy mother of shite. So I'm really pissed at this point and basically M/S say they'll just replace my 360.. but It did end up biting M/S in the ass. I won't say it on here, they could be watching..

How do you stand your 360...vertical or horizontal? Did you move the console was the drive was active?

From the posts I've read on this subject, it is usually user error where the 360 has been stood vertically or moved/knocked slightly whilst the drive was in use. As such my 360 remains horizontal n is never moved whilst powered on.

Mine was horizontal and hard crashed, then i turned it off and it made a nasty noise like a lawnmower grinding something.

Then on booting up it kept making a shreiking whine every 2 seconds whilst something rubbed against something.

If it had scratched my disc I would not get off the phone until they replaced my game.

Well In my case one of my games was scratched because I moved the console. The other just made a terrible sound while loading a map (stood virtically). Which I then changed to using my 360 layed flat because my disc tray would stick stood virtically.

Now it wont stop opening and closing! It's got considerably worse. It woke me up twice last night opening and closing the disc tray like a child with a clicky pen. I've decided to send it away :S Thankfully they have told me to keep my HDD and just send the machine (which I was worried they'd errase everything (heard some stories)).

But why do you have to do your own make-shift box?! Why not send it in the original pakaging?!

Because there's been so many stolen by the people who collect it, the 360's are collected by a company nothing to do with M/S they just deliver them. And it makes it obvious it's a 360 if it's in its original packaging.
