I dont really ever pre-order games. Only once (Halo 3) and i got that on release day!
Think i`ll start pre-ordering all games from now on.
Thanks for the info lads!

I might get it tomorrow. Not decided yet - reviews I've seen have basically said it's the first game but longer. Nothing revolutionary but it does everything a little better.
To me, that sounds fine in theory - but the multiplayer sucked. Might rent it just for the campaign. Not decided yet.

from the videos ive seen the lancer seems a lot more accurate this time round, may result in long range battles aswell as close up shotgun fests, coupled with 5 players instead of 4 this may also spur on mini conflict through out the map :)

Got mine today, seems like almost every pre order i get it as day early.
And the multiplayer is rubbish, players with rock heads, most weapons are easy to use, maps have LITTLE PATHWAYS for flanks, and deathtraps and enviroments are irratating.
i would'nt even get attached to the multiplayer ONCE!, though cod4 managed to, but not this.

the wepons were never hard to use on gow1? maybe some players (not just you) are experiencing a different game due to the "improvements" made to online, the most notable one probably is going to come from host advantage no longer being an issue.

Lol people are so quick to criticise Gears of War.
I've only played one multiplayer match, and it's not bad. It's just different, will take getting used to being a hardcore Gears 1 player.
First of all,
Renegade - Gears 1 multiplayer was not rubbish, it was just glitchy. It's what kicked off the 360 generation, and brought a whole new style of gameplay onto the scene.
Sam (Crosso) - I don't see how you can dislike it.. plus the weapons aren't really easy to use. Perhaps the lancer, but the shotgun is less powerful now, meaning you have to be more accurate.
But, it's all down to personal opinion I suppose.
I just can't wait to see how MLG & XL deal with this game competitively.

Don't get me wrong Gaskin, I really enjoyed the single player. The issue was that after completing it on Insane (6 hours) and collecting all the tags (1 hour) all I had left was the multiplayer - and in a game hailed as 'the reason to own a 360', the glitches just weren't acceptable. I don't think the mechanics of the single player translated well at all against human opponents, and left the game feeling clunky, clumsy, and very random.

I think that Gears 2 has increased longevity thanks to the horde mode and extra multiplayer options/playlists.
I tried Horde out last nite....bloody fantastic!

Only the single player is fine, yet to try it on co op (got a feeling that it would be like saints row 2 - player joins, player quits = GAME OVER! XD)
But i put the multiplayer this way, it's like conker live and reloaded + Halo 2 + Cod4 mixed together.
I find watching a match of Gears of wars is as boring as spectating a cod4 match.
