Gears 2: First gold lancer pics!

OXM has the first pictures of the in-game gold lancer in Gears of War 2.

The gold lancer is available as part of a pre-order Gears of War 2 deal with certain retailers and you can use the blinged out weapon online.

However, Stefan Hobman (the same guy who unlocked the Seriously 2.0 achievement), tells us that if you kill the player using the gold lancer, then you can pick it up and use it yourself.

You don't get to keep the gold lancer after the match and you lose it once you die. So the gold lancer might look cool but it'll light you up like Christmas and make sure everyone in the match will be fighting themselves to kill you and loot the corpse. You have been warned!

Im lost. do you only get to use it once overall, or once per game ?

The person who owns the gold lancer can use it all the time. However, when he dies online, someone else can nick it and use it for the rest of the round. When the next round starts, the initial gold lancer owner will have his gun back.

i see, who would really want a golden hammerburst though? the other golden weapon could of been the gnasher :D
