Fifa 09 Champions League: Group A Fixtures & Results

Please use this thread to arrange your MatchBox360 FIFA09: Champions League Group A fixtures and reports results accordingly.
You have until midnight Sunday 16th November to play all group fixtures.

You are to play each player in your group twice, a home fixture and an away fixture.

Note: It is not an aggregate scoreline in the group stage.

The host will set up the game and play as the home team.

The GROUP A players are as follows:

vVv Whale - Team TBC
Inferno Ren - Aston Villa
TRC IcemanLeigh - Bayern Munich


Please note: you must remain as the same team for the duration of the tournament.

Please report your results in the following format:

Fixture: player 1 [team] vs [team] player 2
Winner: player 1
Result: 3-2


The top 2 players from each group will progress to the knockout stage.

Cheating allegations are taken very seriously here at MB360. Doing so with both Renegade and IcemanLeigh in your group would be very silly, it'll be looked into.

As Gaskin said - we don't take allegations lightly. There are two admins in your group so I strongly recommend you guys play to the rules.

Klash - why was your friend playing the first game? I don't remember him signing up for this tournament.

Klash has been removed from the tournament for misrepresentation during online fixtures and abusive conduct.

Klash - this isn't the first time you have been seen to be causing trouble in our tournaments and it has continued. Allowing another player to play as you in an official MB360 tournament is inexcusable, and therefore you will take no further part in this tournament. Should you display a reasonable sense of maturity, you will be able to play in additional MB360 tournaments, including the 2v2 and future tournaments. Should you fail to act in a mature manner, this act of grace will be removed.

The two matches played against your tag by PimpZ will be voided.

If anyone has anything to say regarding this decision, use the Private Message function. Abusive/unwarranted comments regarding this matter on the forum will result in your posting and tournament privileges being removed.

Klash goes LAN and plays this game very competitive, you should be happy with getting a 1-1 with him, he is a quality player, won XLeague last week wih ease? You try and do that. If he cheated, why not take pics of his ratings? they would be different on your screen? Your playing to much GB! its getting to your head

Hey, sorry, these tournaments aren't easy for me as I don't really get the chance to play in the evenings, and so days off become my main port of call.

Anyway, I have got a day off tomorrow, but my days off also can't simply be limited to Fifa unfortunately lol, Any one fancy a game before 12.30? I'm out of the house after that, although may be back online, but will just check if anyone else is around if I am..

Cheers for the games Ren, sorry about the connection, have to admit I haven't had any problems on xbl with it so far, but I do know that it can be really dodgy at times just for general internet so it doesn't surprise me.

Was the connection bad for both games? Or was it just the second? It was fine for me, but host and all that I guess (not sure how it works on Fifa)

Sorry to have to do this but I'm not going to be able to continue in this tournament and the FIFA 2v2 tournament. I don't feel that I can put in the effort required as well as supporting a 12-hour per day career and don't feel that I can justify spending such large portions of my day playing games anymore. The fact that I need to be up at 5am and I'm still awake now simply to try and get FIFA matches played is just crazy - I'm not enjoying playing in the games and don't feel that it's right for me to be taking somebody's place just because I can.

*edit* Leigh, it was both games mate. The second goal in the first game was still during the cut-scene, next thing I know Toni was slotting the ball past and I hadn't even seen Friedel kick it. Second game was just a nightmare until about 65-70 minutes, after which it was fine. Well played though.

Sad to hear about you withdrawing from the tournament, I know exactly the feeling. Unfortunately after making the (very bad) decision to house share again this year, I simply haven't really got the evenings available, and working all day 5 and a half days a week doesn't allow for a lot of time.

I will definitely take a look at my connection anyway, I would suggest that it was probably unfortunate timing though as as I said before I haven't really had a problem with it so far. In fact only one laggy Fifa game that I can think of, and I very rarely host. We should definitely catch up if we ever manage to be online at the same time though, an maybe we can have a few lag free games for a bit of a laugh. (I do need to get myself a mic though too lol)

Exactly mate - I leave for work at 6:45am, get back at around 7pm, and in bed at 10:30pm usually to be up by 5-5:30am to get breakfast and get ready. It doesn't leave much time for living. Computer games have to take a back seat - when I get some precious time to play them I want to be enjoying it. I never found competitive gaming particularly enjoyable. Looking forward to having the enjoyable gaming feeling again :)

I've also sent Fear a message confirming that I'm leaving Inferno, and Matt has been made aware that I no longer wish to work for/with EA. Although it's sad to have to leave, I do feel a weight has lifted!
