Hi i'm DayC I started posting on the forums just before XL to find out details about the event and have recently started posting regularly. I'm 16 (almost 17) and come from Maghull in Liverpool (the posh part lol).
I have always had a love for video games ever since i played Street Fighter & Super Mario World on the SNES. My first video game system was the N64 on which I used to love to play Mario Kart 64, Bomberman 64 and F-Zero X. I then moved onto a small PSOne with which i played Crash Bandicoot and Metal Gear Solid.
I then moved into high school and got myself an Xbox instead of PS2 continually trying to convince everyone that it was better, I had no luck until year 8 when a person moved to our school called Scott Atkins a.k.a Vampsy (scouse power ;) ), he used to play Halo aswell as GTA and we would sit and discuss it in all the lessons that we had together, we then both purchased Halo 2 on its release and would again talk and discuss the storyline, the multiplayer and upcoming montages which he would show me. Fortunatly for me he bought Xbox Live and kept pestering me to buy it, which i couldn't because of parents being overly protective. I kept teasing him about how i was better than him and how I would beat him 1v1 and he just used to say I wouldn't.
Eventually I was allowed to buy it and he challenged me, boy was I wrong 15 - 0 was the score and he never said anything about it. He guided me through xbox live, introduced me to people i'd never met and taught me everything he knew about Halo 2 and still shows me the odd thing or two today.
Vampsy also opened up a whole new world of gaming for me and I thank him for that and appreciate everything he's done for me. Next I managed to convince my future team mates Liam Stoddart (Liam1878) Andy Taylor (I KrazyKing I) and Shaun Morgan (Morgan90) to buy a copy of Halo 2 and xbox live, after Liam and krazyking playing it at my house they finally decided to purchase it and Morgan re-purchasing it after once being a veteran of Halo 2 and xbox live.
Next in my gaming life my mum and dad bought me and my brother an xbox 360 on christmas eve the year they were released only to find out it was dodgy like all the others and it took me about 4 months to get off my backside and send it back for repair. This led to switching to Halo 2 again krazyking convincing me to go to XL with him, Liam and Morgan.
With the excitement of a Halo 2 tournament going on I decided to become more active about finding out that you guys had a forum, so I hung around here for a while until the tourny. Well i can safely say i made the right decision to go it was a really great atmosphere and there was some great people there, I met up with Vampsy again who introduced me to Lil Beattie, Rohan and Pred UK. I then met TrevVv in my first FFA game and PhaLynx in our first 4v4 match who i recently met in MM the other day with a friendly greeting. Finally I met Rain501, whilst laughing at a dozy kid (eventually i was so dozy i forgot to pay) in the 4v4 sign up line we had a little chat about how he helped setup the event, how long it had taken them, all the hard work the staff put it and his eventual plan to rule the world... (ok so we didn't get that far in)
Finally the tournament ended with only one thing left to do, post on the MatchBox360 forums!
