this game is gonna be good fun on co-op. i wasnt going to buy this game at all, but after playing a few games with cormac, it made me pre order the game. cant wait for it.

Explosion looked ok but suffered terrible slow down.

You repeated a link as well, as for standing on top of the tower I didn't find it particularly impressive, Oblivion does that 12 months ago + and I would imagine that Assassins creed would be more breath taking through sense of scale even within the confines of a city boundary.

Well it's not a thinking game, it's more like Dynasty Warriors in that respect - when you truly want to get away from it all and play game that in it's element is just about having fun then crackdown fits the bill perfectly.

I have pre-ordered.

Thanks to Shopto I received this yesterday. I didn't play too much of the demo once I knew that I was going to buy this. First impressions are very promising. As soon as I got to the start screen it told me that there was new content available for download. On checking there are 4 new agents to download and use. Can't say I have seen any other game actually give a message regarding downloadable content which I think is a good feature. The Halo 3 beta is also sitting there and can be downloaded when it is made available.

The game starts with a intro movie of stills explaining whats going on then you start in the agency, same as the demo. The first thing you will notice is that you can't level up your abilities as quickly as you could in the demo which is good and adds more life to the game. So far I have only killed one boss as I have spent more time jumping about the buildings looking for agility orbs, new weapons and unlocking supply points.

This seems to be a very polished title from the way the game tells you about downloadable content to balanced progression. This is only based on a couple of hours play but I'm already looking forward to playing again tonight.

Going to get this pre-ordered, not my type of game, and I‘ve already won a Halo 3 BETA test, so what reason could I have for getting it.

Well, I dont know really, I think there’s far better games around the corner, such as games like Assasins Creed, Bio-shock, Mass Effect and Halo 3, but there’s something about Crackdown that I fancy. Maybe its the being able to jump over buidlings part as I gather its a great experience like free-running.

Well I can trade it in if I get bored of it. Suck it and see as they say.

Not in every case though, I know a few people that are buying it for Crackdown alone, including myself. Just looks like a really good laugh, the sort of game you can pick up and play at anytime, so I could do with a game like that in my collection.

Yup - my copy has arrived to. What I found interesting was the big "recorded data" delivery sticker on the front of the package... never had this before from Play... strange. Somebody wants to know about my copy of Crackdown.

My copy came today from play.com with strange tracking bar code as well and with Halo 3 beta invite it is not going to work till later in year when they activate download in game it is great fun as you boost up the guy is like superman jumps tall buildings its going to be great fun

Question - I climbed the agency tower on 3 star, I got to the top and didn't get an achievement. I started one of the green rooftop challenges first though, might that be why?

Stated I didnt like this type of game at first, but thought hey I’d give it a go, and I have to admit, its soooo much better than my intial thoughts from the demo.

There’s so much to do, every corner you turn. Roof jumping is excellent once you get your agility skills up a bit.

Had to have a go at climbing the agency towers, and boy its tougher than I thought, but I managed it in the end and got my achievement, and then obviously I had to get the other fun one of jumping into the little pool. I’ve cleaned up the first district completely now, and the area has now been renamed.

I think its a little unfair comparing this to GTA’s and that, its so much better in my opinion. The developers obviously went for FUN FUN FUN as the main aim of the game, and it achieves this brilliantely. I just enjoy myself everytime I load it up, and surely thats a sign of a good game. I’m into my FPS and Football games, so this is a total break for me to try something else, and I’m glad I took the risk.

The only thing I’m having trouble with isgetting my explosion skills up - any tips anyone?

If you have completed the game Turtle you should turn random crimes on, choose to spawn in the shai gen area of the city, preferably at the top of a large building and select both your weapons as the rocket launchers along with the cluster grenades.

There will be groups of gang members on the rooftops all around this island all standing in close proximity, a single rocket/grenade will kill them all and give you some nice explosion experience. I maxed my explosion and marksman stats out this way.

In other crack down news, I have 496 agility orbs and 182 hidden orbs. If anyone would like to draw me a map to the final four agility orbs I will send you a Mr Kipling Lemon Slice (half eaten).

Chears for the tips Tugsy, very interesting indeed. But I’ve only cleared out one district, the first one, the easy one, and now I’m going to move into the other districts. Thing is the gangs are so much tougher, so I think I’m lacking something to take them down.

Did you have any explosive stars at this point (only first district completed)?

And if you did, how did you get them up after only completing the easy district?

Or will your little tip of switching on Random Crimes help me at still my early stage?

Ah, you can't turn off/on the random crimes until you have completed the games didn't realise you were only that far... my explosion skill was the last one I maxed out.... and too be honest it is arguably the most worthless skill to level.

Getting your agility up should be the priority, followed closely by the markmanship at this point in the game. If you go to the second island and get a rocket launcher from a gang member you should find the game a lot easier.

Aha!! Cheers, see I havent come across a rocket launcher yet, although when I did make a brief visit to the second island, I did have to get out of there pretty sharpesh due to all sorts of ammo being fired in my direction.

Its funny though, my first skill to get maxxed is my stregnth, and now I’ve got my agility up. I was thinking explosives may start to improve on the tougher gangs.

Also my driving skills are terrible as civilians keep getting in my way, anybody know where I can get some air time in a car to try my hand at those driving achievements and to max out my driving skill?

Firstly, on Los Muertos island you can go to the right of the fair ground/carnival and onto the small shopping area. There is a complete setup of barrels, blow them up and run away for a fair distance, return to that area and you will see that they have respawned. Rinse and repeat for the achievement.

Secondly, again on Los Muertos if you head to where you killed Diaz, on the northern most island in the Agency SUV you can perform stunts there for easy driving skill points. Alternatively drive slowly into enemies and run them down, it's important to drive slowly otherwise they will dive out of the way.

Game is driving me nuts....499 Agility Orbs....spent hours looking for the little straggler, I even tried not looking in case I just happened across it....no cheese.

Im in the same boat as you, but I've got 497 :mad:
I've got the IGN guide of where they all are, but I cant be arsed to potentially look in 497 places for nothing.

I can give you the guide if you want. its not great but its something :)
