UK gamers will finally be able to buy Manhunt 2 for Playstation 2, PSP, and Wii on 31 October.

Originally released in the US over a year ago, the game was refused a certificate by the British Board of Film Certification in June 2007.

Following multiple appeals and changes to the game, it was granted a certificate in March.

The goriest scenes were blurred out in the American version of the game but have been removed altogether in the UK.

In the game, players assume the role of a mental asylum patient who must escape by any means including attacks with improvised weapons in an effort to discover why he has been imprisoned.

The BBFC initially banned the game for its "unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone" and also rejected an initial edited version of the game.

After extensive negotiations between Rockstar, the BBFC and the Video Appeals Committee, an 18 certificate was issued in March.

i enjoyed playing the first game and still have it as it was originally band. looking forward to playing this as long as this two never sees the light of day due to the graphic nature of the game but then thats all down to the people that certify it.

YOU KNOW WHAT GRINDS MY GEARS: under age children playing games they shouldnt then you get people complaining about how violent games are today games are given certificates for a reason to try and stop people who are under age from playing them.

Blatently got to agree with PATCH about the game cert's. It is true how so many people, especially parents, who complain about the content of the game their children are playing. If they're going to complain, surely they can see there "18" cert on the cases of games that they're buying for there 9 year old kid. It doesnt make sense.

But manhunt was a good game it has to be said, so bloody violent though, was awesome :D
Looking forward to playing number 2 if its on 360 like.
