Hey,

Just thought I should post on here to get an idea of what you guys would like to see at XL6. Fucapo UK had a stand at XL5, it was a bit boring to say the least. We want to bring something a little more fun to the next one. We were thinking a couple pool tables or some arcade games, haven’t decided yet though.

We wanted your input before we made a decision, so feel free to post any ideas you have, treat it as unlimited budget and unlimited space (within reason).

So far lets add a couple Pool Tables, I've liked the idea of having them for a while now, gives me something to do while Jess is walking around pretending she knows about games :D, maybe get a few tournaments going, should be a laugh while you wait to play, maybe some killer if anyone's played that?

I know Kon might be planning arcade games anyway, if no one comes up with a better idea we might have to steal his!

I think some classic arcade games like Daytona and Time Crysis that have already been suggested would be great fun along with things like the Air Hokey tables and the Punch machines were you test how hard your punch is. I think anything that people can do together and doesn't take more than 5 minutes to complete would work well.

I do like the idea of a showing scores and stuff, not sure how that all works with the venue though, will have to find out.

No way am i getting a dance machine, never get jess off it.

But i think we can put arcade games down on the list, i dont know any names lol but im thinking time crisis (high scores recorded) and a 4 way racing sim (lap times recorded), sure we can throw some prizes in. same with pool, i would love to have some sort of pool tournament. even if its just something like "Highest Break" if its too hard to arrange 1v1 or doubles.

Leaving us with the third, 2 pool tables and a couple arcade games, not sure how many yet or what ones. Still need a third idea.......

Something like that will take a bit more planning, in regards to chip count, staff running the tables. at the moment i have two girls and me, with something like that i will need atleast two more.

If the new bond game is out. Then simple. You get some chips when you buy fucapo. you gamble them. At the end of the day, gamer with most chips win a copy of the new bond game(if its out by then). I didnt mean the idea to be sexest, Bond girls are a mayor part of the films fransize. Its fun and gives you a chance to sell more product. If you had a bloke in gold shorts and bow tie minx would like that..lol problem is events are a male domain, yes it would be sweet if more woman attended events(and i know reason why many dont). Yeah. I doubt a match of that profile will be on BBC or ITV on a weekend. Worst comes to worst, Freeview with Sky Sports News. I believe that'd be possibility. Then we can get regular updates on scores for those interested.

Pretty sure there are internet streams available online that would cover it the game but from my experience they are not particularly high quality. I have a spare freeview box available...how we would get a decent tv signal on a crappy aerial is another question.

You need a reasonable signal to pick up Freeview so I'm not too sure how it'd be done. Could stream the game but much like you, I've had similar bad experiences with streaming matches. I don't see the point in people gathering around a projector to get a vague idea of what's going on in a match.

At the end of the day football is on between 3pm and 5pm saturday, 4pm and 6pm sunday. (pretty much)

So what else is on over the weekend that we can get using freeview which seems to be our only option? im going to take a wild guess and say........not much.

If people want to know football scores the best way to do it would be to get them of the internet and get the radio guys to announce the scores. if there is a tv with freeview then it will be left with some very random stuff on it, for some reason i have an image in my head of people watching Eastenders.

I think it would look out of place..........

you could hook a laptop upto a big HDTV and put live scores on that, i think thats the only way your gonna get live scores for free. Laptop would be too small so if you got like a 42 - 48" HDTV then that would work great. they do it in my local sometimes.

for freeview you need a wideband arial so no normal crappy one will even pick up anything on freeview. also if the tv thing is gunna be an issue get a bloody radio with the footy on it, get a fooseball table and make an area for the lads to listen to the footy and pee about on fooseball you can even run a mini tourny on fooseball to make it more interesting!!!
also seen someone ask bout a casino bit at xl lol need to be careful on the gambling rules on that side of things would only be good if you were playing for chips and using chips to trade for anything other than cash.

Austin whats you thoughts on what you are gunna give away for mini tournys?? you need some hot prizes to get things swinging at XL the radio guys are bringing goodie bags to XL with games, hdd and contollers to give away so you need to stand out from the crowd and have something appealing for people to win and something that is somehow themed in someway to XL. games, ms points, xbl membership etc etc etc you catch my drift :) hope this has helped.

The arcade games and pool tables will be coin operated, but we will have the keys so something can be arranged. pay to play, but if you want to play in some sort of comp then you would get your money straight back on that occasion.
