XL Signature Design Competition: WIN FREE ENTRY!!!

MatchBox360 are pleased to announce a new signature competition aimed at those with a passion for design! Have you got what it takes to make the perfect signature to advertise and promote XL? If so, this is your chance to show off your skills!

The entry requirements are simple:

All entries should be either a forum signature or mini-signature:
Forum sig: 500x50 maximum size
Mini-sig: 400x20 maximum size
Competition starts: Saturday 20th September.
Closing date for entries: Saturday 4th October.
Entries to be submitted via PM to one of the judges listed below.
Judges will pick the most suitable entry and announce the winner on the Sunday 5th October.
The winner of this competition will receive: FREE ENTRY to XL Autumn 2008 worth £30!!!
Prize is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash alternative.
The winning signature will be added to the MatchBox360 Referral Scheme (see below).
MatchBox360 Referral Scheme: every member of MatchBox360 may use the selected signature on websites or forums to earn referral points. The person with the most referral points prior to MatchBox360 XL will receive a prize...so even if your not a graphical genius then you're still in with a chance to win! Details of how to obtain your unique referral code (in either HTML or BB Code) will be announced once the winner has been confirmed.

the size is the only major variable to consider, and the size constraints are stated at the top. i think its normal to save a finished pic/sig in one of the standard formats, most notably jpeg?

Jpeg doesn't allow you do flash things with which is why i think hes asking. Im sure Minx or Stomping will be able to answer this simple question.

As mentioned above, i do know what i'm talking about, i did read it and it didn't mention what i was asking.

I mean i could just submit a standard jpg flat image, but why would i want to do that if i could upload a whole dancing animated sig with all the flash...

I am assuming just jpg though for this competition cause its gonna have to be cross forum compatible in which case other forums might not allow the use of the other types...

If a suitable design isnt submitted then the prize will not be allocated.

A sig being maximum of 50 pixels in height imo is nowhere near big enough to fit all of the required information, unless you want it to be overly cluttered or look like the designer has just stuck a block of 12pt paragraph in.

All depends on the design...50px is plenty high enough for a sig to contain images and text. TBH if a design was submitted that was good enough and higher than 50px then it would be allowed.

Nope. The closest anyone came to winning was yourself but because the no sigs were used for the purpose of this then the competition is void. We will try again for the next event.
