*THIS IS FOR HALO ONLY*

I was wondering and also thinking that XL should give out prize/money to more than just top 3. For example, last event at XL5, the prize money was excellent... If you made top 3.

1st - 500/player
2nd - 350/player
3rd - 150/player

Lets say, XL decrease 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize money down, e.g.

1st - 480/player
2nd - 330/player
3rd - 130/player

This leaves £240 left. This could then be used as prize money for 4th leaving:

4th - 60/player

I think this would drive teams more for the top 4 finish as most teams would like prize money and the recognition of the top 4 placement.

Also, I think that say, 1st - 6th could maybe have free 4v4 entry into next event if they decide to turn up, this could be used as an incentive to maybe motivate the team to come making sure that they turn up and to keep prize pot constant.

Another idea I had was maybe merchandise? Maybe the XL team are already looking into it, but something to relate the company and tournament back to its members, say like T-Shirts, patches, stickers, official stuff, faceplates?

Anyway, what are your views guys?

This has been discussed before and you can read my responses. Please read the following thread and post your thoughts if you would like to discuss further: http://matchbox360.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=7260

Regarding a few of your other points...

Its nice of you to suggest we give free entry to top 6 teams, however that would cost an additional £360 which would basically reduce the prize fund available at the next event (how you work out it makes the prize pot constant is beyond me). Until these tournaments are sponsored then dont expect anything like that. We appreciate your feedback but you dont understand the finances involved, so a simple answer to this suggestion is "no".

Merchandise is something we will look at in the future but our experience shows that it actually lost us money, however we will be looking at ways of making it more beneficial in future.

I'm sure there will be lots of ignorant posts about our finances on H3F so I look forward to being amused.
