THL Radio will be attending Matchbox 360 from the 28th November 2008, in association with the event organisers we will be providing running commentary, interviews and competitions live on air from the event floor.
We will also be recording a live episode of the fragpad (http://www.thefragpad.com) there! Andie and Craig will be chatting about gaming, tech and other random nonsense, and give the audience free gaming gear! Please reply if are going to be in the audience so we have a rough idea about how much stuff we need to get for you all :)
Tune in for the run up to Matchbox now until November on http://thlradio.com and then come see us on the 28th-30th November.
From the team at THL Radio we can't wait to meet all of you!

Most ppl attending XL dont post on the forums I'm afraid but we're expecting upto 500 ppl to attend in November...so if you're providing freebies then you best bring in a big bag! lol :D
For anyone else, THL Radio is an online gaming radio station with a fantastic selection of tunes and DJs available online 24-7...so tune in now! ;)

Thanks for the kind words KONSPIRACY :D
To explain the fragpad it is basically a show akin to Diggnation (check it out if you haven't watched it - great show!) but primarily about games and British, so it is likely to burst into flames half way through - yeah, that's right we went all the way with the IT Crowd reference!
We would love as many people to come and watch us (and give us moral support) as we film it. We'll try and stay away from the fragpad memorabilia (t-shirts and stuff) as gifts and give away as many games and hardware goodies as we can on our budget. I'm thinking faceplates, controllers, gift vouchers for games, the new HDD's and such.

That can be easily replicated...
Invite loads of ppl round your house
Make them stay awake for 72 hrs
Put Halo3 in your 360
Turn up the volume really loud
Make them move all the furniture around your house for 12 hours
Invite 300 random ppl around for a system link party
XL1. Done! :D

Quote from there site :
We're sorry, but THL has left the building!
With immediate effect, THL Radio is off the air. It has just become too much work and too expensive for us to run, we'd like to say a big thanks to everybody for helping with THL Radio over the years, especially:
Gullando, Annargh, Fatal, Matt, Josh, Tobias, Joe, Billy, Mark, Phil, James Cox, Spinola, Jamie, Steven, Hertz and anybody else we missed off.
Also a HUGE thanks to HNUK.net for supporting us for almost half a year, they have been amazing to us.
Mikee and Craig have requested that we keep the forums online, and they will be running them from today. Visit the forums.

I can confirm that THL will no longer be attending, and we wish them all the best in getting their services back online.

Hi guys. We'd just like to say sorry for our no-show this coming event, but hope to be back for your next event.
Although running stations may not have cost much for you, THL is (unfortunately) a relatively expensive venture for us to run and we have full time jobs to fund it (remember, we also have to pay for our other day to day commitments such as rent and running cars). THL goes through upwards of 20GB of bandwidth a day and sometimes close to 70GB a day on the stream alone and around 30GB on the website over a course of a month. In addition to these bandwidth costs we also have to pay relatively large sums of money to the two license bodies in the United Kingdom, PPL UK and the MCPS-PRS partnership. This is without considering on air content (such as audio imaging packages for shows) and third party advertisements.
THL has been running for around 3 years now (previously under the guise of FragFM) so it has been a relatively long-running project to date, and by no means have we entirely gone off air.
In mid-late October we will be ready to give a re-open date and a couple of pretty exciting new features and shows on the station and website.
Once again, sorry for the inconvience but we weighed up our options, and it wasn't an easy decision but taking it offline for a limited time will allow for a more robust and continued service in the long run.
