Please read and understand both the GEARS OF WAR 4v4 EXECUTION and the MatchBox360 General Rules listed below:
Start Date: Sunday 7th September
Team Limit: 64
Event Admin: Minx
GEARS OF WAR - 4v4 EXECUTION RULES:
All players must be registered on this site and be resident in the UK or Europe to enter.
Any team found fielding non-registered players is in breach of the MatchBox360 rules and will subsequently be disqualified. It is the responsibility of each team to ensure opponents only play with fully registered team mates. As such, please supply evidence (screen shot or game links) to prove any use of illegal players.
Each team must nominate one player to be team captain. It is the responsibility of the team captain to communicate with other teams and event staff, arrange the teams fixtures within the timescales provided and report results accordingly. Failure to arrange a match within the given timescale will result in removal from the competition.
The tournament will follow a double elimination knockout format, whereby a loss will demote your team to the losers bracket. A further loss in the losers bracket will result in your teams elimination from the tournament.
Teams will be seeded based on performance in the previous MatchBox360 online tournament. Any teams who did not take part will be seeded at random.
Substitutes:
- Each team may nominate upto 2 substitute players.
- Substitutes may only be registered to one team taking part in this event.
- Substitutions can only be made in the pre-game lobby and not whilst a game is in progress.
Transfers:
- Transfer windows will be available at the end of each round of fixtures allowing a maximum 2 x player changes/additions to your squad.
- You may not transfer in players who have already played for another team during the tournament.
The tournament schedule is as follows:
ROUND 1: 7th September - 14th September
Subsequent rounds and losers bracket will be played weekly thereafter.
Please note: if teams are unable to agree a mutually convenient time for their fixture then the default time for each fixture will be Sunday at 8:00pm unless otherwise stated. Any team who do not show at this time (as per no show rules stated below) will be deemed to have forfeited the fixture.
Each fixture will be played using the following format:
- Fixtures will consist of a best of 5 map series.
- Each team will host 2 maps.
- The home team will host maps 1 and 3. The away team will host maps 2 and 4.
- The non-host team will have choice of maps.
- Each map may only be selected once per fixture (ie upto 5 unique maps to be played).
- Map details are to be stated by the team captains in the appropriate match arrangement threads.
- If teams are tied after playing their selected maps (ie 2-2), then the team who has won the most rounds in the first 4 maps will host the game and the other team will choose the map. (please note: the 5th map does not have to be played if the outcome of the result has already been determined).
- The home team (as stated in the fixture) will play as COG for all games, and the away team will play as Locust.
All games will be played using the following settings:
Gametype: Execution
Number of Rounds: 5
Bleed-Out Duration: 20
Round Duration: 5
Friendly Fire: No
Weapons Swapped: Replace Hammer of Dawn with Boomshot
Maps to be used:
Canals
Clocktower
Fuel Depot
Gridlock
Mansion
War Machine
Please note: It is the responsibility of both teams to ensure the game settings are correct, and by playing in and completing the game you accept the game settings set by the host player.
Hosting and Connections:
- Teams are requested to ensure the player with the best connection on their team hosts the lobby.
- A 3 minute lag test should be completed prior to the start of the game series. If any player has issues with lag or latency then an alternative host should be found.
- Please ensure there is no other internet equipment active in your household and there is no one downloading using the same connection whilst you are playing.
- If a player lags out or disconnects during the initial launch of the game, the game will be restarted.
- If a player lags out or disconnects after the game has started, the game will continue and the player may be re-invited.
- Teams may not invite alternative squad members if the person who disconnected is unable to reconnect.
- If the host disconnects after the game has started, then the host team forfeits that round.
The team drawn as the home team must set up a lobby using the settings above and maps selected, then invite the other team captain to join (please ensure you have sufficient room on your friends list to add / receive friend requests from your opponent).
After the maps hosted by the home team have been played, the away team must set up a lobby using the settings above and maps selected, then invite the other team captain to join.
If a 5th and deciding game is required, then the host team is to set up a lobby as detailed above.
If as the home team, there is no response from your opponent for upto 15 minutes after the scheduled start time then the game will be declared a "no show", and the home player will receive a default win and progress to the next round. Please supply supporting evidence if your opponents were not online at the agreed time.
If as the away team, you do not receive a friend request or game invite by the scheduled start time then you must firstly add your opponent to your friends list, and if after 15 minutes there has been no response then the game will declared a "no show". The away team will receive a default win and progress to the next round. Please supply supporting evidence if your opponents were not online at the agreed time.
The winning team must report the result in the appropriate results thread in the Gears of War 4v4 forum. Obviously, if there was a "no show" then the winner by default must report the game details in the forum asap.
Please be aware that it is every players responsibility to ensure the result is reported correctly. If you have any issues with the reported result you must contact an MatchBox360 representative immediately. You must provide clear photographic evidence in case the result is questioned.
Weapon slide is allowed. Any performance of other known glitches in the game will be classed as cheating. If you suspect a team to have used glitches, cheats or abusive behaviour, you must provide sufficient evidence of reasonable quality and the appropriate action will be taken.
Full fixture details & results will be made available online as soon as the results are posted in the forums.
Prizes to be confirmed.
