@ Kayzabel - yes, we are aware that some ppl may not be able to get time off school/work so we have moved Gears1 to start on Saturday. Gears2 will be available as freeplay on the Friday so unlikely that you'll get to play it until the Gears1 tournament has finished if you dont come Friday.

@ Defjam - you can arrive whatever die you like as long as you have purchased your tickets. Gears of War (1) tournament will start Saturday morning as detailed above.

If Gears Of War starts after or at exactly 10:30am otherwise you will miss the opening rounds and will be disqualified.

Personally, I suggest being there at 9am on the day your tournament begins. It can be slightly different (PES doesn't start until the afternoon) but with Gears we have more players and more fixtures to fit in. Being late means holding up the tournament - which won't happen. Latecomers will simply be forfeited.

Like I said - you can turn up any time you want. But we won't wait for you if you're not there in time for your tournaments!

I actually did loads of searches on Google and apparently winter doesnt officially start until late December...therefore the dates are classed as autumn even though I expect it will be very cold and feel very much like winter! :eek:

We've never had a Gears tournament run later than scheduled yet...so I would expect it to be completed no later than 7pm on Sunday. Obviously the official hours are 9am - 9pm so players are expected to be available during these times and remain until the tournament is completed if it does run over. Would actually be nice to see some Gears players stick around for the Sunday and prize ceremony for a change tbh! lol :D

Also there are a number of titles yet tbc such as PES, FIFA, UT3, Rock Band and a few more...so please stop jumping to conclusions about what titles will be and wont be there until you hear it from me or Boffy.

ye there is always a search and destroy team match and FFA team deathmatch for cod4 and execution for gears

Almost correct.

For COD4:
4v4 replaces 5v5 and will be mixed gametypes.
2v2 replaces FFA.

Halo3 uses MLG rules and gametypes.
Gears will be as per usual XLrules and execution only.

As stated in first post, other titles are to be confirmed and will be announced accordingly.

...and yes, due to BBFC age restrictions on certain games you need to be aged 15 or older to attend.

Unfortunately we dont have an endless supply of hardware, so unless Codemasters support GRID then it will not be featured. Obviously we would be more than happy to welcome Codemasters and GRID back to XL however as with all games that do not attract enough players for a main tournament, if there isnt support from the games developers then it simply wont happen.

No times can be confirmed. It will be on Friday although 11am seems to be approximately the time that it will most likely start. Times won't be confirmed until the day that it starts.

COD4 2v2 will start at approx 11am Friday and will take all day to complete. Please make sure you arrive as early as possible on Friday if you are entering this.

Friday will also include Halo3 FFA and probably the UT3 Duel.

Saturday and Sunday will be the 4v4 team events (Halo3, Gears and COD4).

Could you please tell me if the Settings as copied below used in the Autumn online series Gears Of War 4v4 execution tournament, will also be the same for the Gears Of War LAN 4v4 execution tournament in Birmingham at the Cranmore Park venue on the 29th & 30th of November??

All games will be played using the following settings:
Gametype: Execution
Number of Rounds: 5
Bleed-Out Duration: 20
Round Duration: 5
Friendly Fire: No
Weapons Swapped: Replace Hammer of Dawn with Boomshot
Maps to be used:

The 4v4 will use MLG v5 settings and maps.

The FFA will be using MLG traits (at the moment) on a forged map 'Hype' created by 'Feign' within the community.

COD4 FFA has been replaced by 2v2. Basically FFA has become really boring on COD4, so hopefully the 2v2 Sabo will provide a lot more excitement and provide a better tournament for everyone involved.

Kon, the new 007 has came out today, and from what i have been told it's "sick" :). It's got the COD4 Engine and also developed by Activision so all of the COD4 players will love it. Many players have told me it's like COD4 but better than COD5.

I am going to go out and get it in a bit and let ya know what i think.

This should be a major game at XL6. The same way Farcry is with a little tourny tbh.
