Sony has outright confirmed that the company will NOT be announcing a price cut of any description at Leipzig Games Convention next week in Germany. Got that?
"It's not going to happen. If you're coming for that you'll be disappointed," Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman Nick Caplin told Reuters. We can't remember if we were really expecting one though.
Anyway if you are in the market for a PS3, be warned that the 80GB goes on sale in the UK soon.
At E3 SCEE confirmed that the 80GB PS3 will be launched in the UK on August 27 for £299, with the 40GB console is phased out.
"There is more downloadable content than ever before, with the emphasis moving towards user generated content," said Sony's David Reeves. "When you add this to the already compelling entertainment offering on PS3, the extra storage becomes invaluable."
Leipzig GC runs from August 20 to 22. We'll be there with notebook in hand.
