View Full Version : Innkeepers Sheldon: XL Gamers Banned

It is with regret that I have to make this thread and post the details below...
Despite previous requests for XL gamers to behave and conduct themselves at their choice of hotel, it is with regret that I have to inform you all that I have today received notification from the Innkeepers Sheldon that they will no longer be accepting bookings from anyone found to be attending XL.
The unacceptable behaviour includes complete disregard for hotel staff, hotel rules and other guests staying at the hotel. Obviously a lot of people attending XL have stayed in the Innkeepers Sheldon, however due to a number of inconsiderate people repeatedly behaving in an unacceptable manner, the consequences now affect everyone attending XL and wishing to stay in the Innkeepers Sheldon.
Further to what has been described as "disgraceful and unacceptable behaviour", the Innkeepers Sheldon received numerous complaints from other guests staying at the hotel and had to offer refunds in order to compensate other guests who were abused, offended and had their stay disrupted by XL gamers.
As a direct consequence, the management at Innkeepers Sheldon have made it clear that anyone booking at the hotel (including online) and found to be attending XL will have their admission to the hotel refused and requested to seek alternative accommodation.
Obviously the behaviour and actions of gamers after they leave the XL venue is beyond our control, however if behaviour like this is repeated then it could affect the future of XL. To prevent further bans being imposed at other hotels, I would like to appeal to everyone attending XL to adhere to hotel rules and show more consideration to others.
Please do not book at the Innkeepers Sheldon for future XL events as you will be refused admission to the hotel.

Christ's sake. Sorry to hear that - it's about time some people learned how to behave for three days and stop messing things up for everyone else.

I stayed there, wasn't as much trouble as there has been at other hotels. It just seems to be the cocks stay in these hotels, of both kind. Halo cocks, and just general people cocks. I just walked down the corridor to my room, not even saying a word, some bloke opens his door and tells me to shut the **** up and stop pissing about. I was so tempted to tell him to suck my balls and walk off but I just ignored him, ugly prick.

Do you think he has actually targeting that at you...or is it likely that he'd completely lost his patience with the amount of noise and randomly opened his door to shout at everyone?

Well considering he looked directly at me, and pointed at me. Then I'd take a stab that he was directing it at me, which was so bloody irritating. Lol.

Haha what happened? What kind of things were done to warrant a ban?
Sucks on the ban though, i hope that it was worth it (at least in amusement at the time).

We stayed there and there was a bit of trouble outside at one point.
Not surprised by the ban really as loud mouth pricks throwing glasses is well over the top.
Kids that get drunk spoil it for everyone. I bet it was the first time some of these namby pambies have ever been allowed to stay out without mummy and daddy holding their hands and dont realise what is expected from normal adults.
Its a shame as it was a really nice hotel and I would have liked to have stayed again.

YellKell do you know who it was or what clan they was in by any chance?

I don't know who it was but it was one group having a go at one guy after he apparently said something they didn't like. Could have really turned nasty if the glass had hit him.
I'm sure someone on here knows exactly who the dick was.

Shame, hopefully lessons will be learnt as if this keeps players will only hurt themselevs in having to pay more for hotels.

Like Yellkell said earlier our teams really enjoyed staying here, it was a bit of a trek to the venue but was ideally located for a cheap chinese buffet and Indian lol..
With regards the slapfest that kicked off on Saturday night, I dont think it was any of the gamers staying there that were involved. To be honest the bar was rammed both nights we were there and I would guess that most of the people there werent staying at the hotel. I can only assume that the management must have had issues with some behavior in the rooms or must have had some complaints fom other residents. Certainly the ****s in our corridor were a rowdy bunch and there were one or two times when I nearly knocked some doors to shut people up. The staff must have had details of who occupied the rooms and should simply ban those people.
Its a shame really but once again a few idiots ruin it for the rest of us. Believe me though, if the next place we stay costs any more then I will be looking to have a quiet word with those that I saw making a row last time and they can pay the extra for me.
Kon any chance of a tent area so we can camp?

Do you actually think people are going to give you money to top up your hotel accomadation? I think not. It's ashame that it has come to this, you couldn't ask for any more for £40 for 3 nights. If there is a price hike for the jump up to the next hotel I'll probably end up driving every day will probably work out cheaper. No matter what though, I will never stay in the F1.

only problem i had at the sheldon was ppl knocking on my door constantly and i would walk outside and they would be gone seriously ppl need to grow up it gets annoying after 10-15 times. just because of some inconsiderate ppl we all have to suffer.

Who could resist the opportunity of pranking the real Devilz live in person? Not me anyway :P
I was there for 2 nights and it seemed to a good hotel and it's unfortunate XL peeps cant stay there anymore. I think it was mainly to do with the other stayers been interupted by loud noises or talking at night because I was told to keep it down a few times when saying nothing so there were a good few out late it seems

Im not quite sure how they can do this, it doesn't matter why you are staying there or what you do during the day you are still a paying customer. They can't just kick you out of the hotel because you happen to be attending something during the day, which has nothing whatsoever to do with the hotel. I could understand if they caught people messing about and kicked them out on the spot and then permenantly banned them individually, but to issue a ban on all people that go to XL surely is discriminatory towards XL attendees.
I agree that people should grow up and shouldn't behave stupidly, but the hotel should catch these people, kick them out and ban them, not just ban anyone found attending XL. It's like George Bush banning all Muslims from America because a few of them crashed planes into the twin towers. They wouldn't be allowed to do it if a small bunch of Muslims were causing trouble there, and they tried to ban all Muslims from the hotel, there would be a public outcry and the management would be sacked, so why should they be allowed to do it to XL attendees?
I can see what they are trying to do, but to prosecute the majority for the actions of a minority is just wrong. Even if they said anyone who stayed there last XL was banned (its still wrong but more understandable), but for them to potentially kick me out even though i had never stayed there before is just because i happen to be attending XL the next day is plain wrong.
I wonder if a group of grandmothers turned up wearing XL t-shirts, would they be kicked out?

I think you mean "persecute the majority for the actions of a minority" :p
I dont agree with it either but I've done everything I can. Please feel free to contact the Innkeepers management or even head office to make a complaint or express your opinions.
