Yes.

As Gaskin has commented - yes, duplicate teams are allowed. Whereas with the UEFA Euro 2008 tournament it was set out with the exact groups, fixtures and teams as the real tournament, this one is not. It's the same structure as the World Cup (number of teams, number of groups) but the groups will all be random/seeded draws with duplicates allowed.

Are France the team to be in this tournament then?

That's who I'm going for - but Holland and Spain also have some absolute class up front. France's defense has been a problem for me in the past.

How is the seed thing going to work?

Renegade

It will be based on previous winners and runners up - so they won't get grouped together.

Renegade

I see you've already registered - but yeah, there are still spaces. Don't forget the 2v2 tournament too, if you have a partner then register for it and play in that too, the more the merrier!

At the moment, no. With XL this weekend it's a bad time to be trying to organise prizes. We will see what happens once XL is past us, but no promises.

*edit* PLLEEEEASE can we use the discussion thread instead of making a new one? That's what it's there for! Moving to discussion thread.

hey renegade i go on holiday on the 9th of august wud it be possible to have a longer 1st round time so i can play it wen i get back?

Renegade

I haven't announced the times yet, but if you can play it when you get back you should do. If not, you can't and default wins get awarded. Chances are it will be for two weeks from the 10th August, as the Euro 2008 group stage went on far too long.

is there any news on prizes

Renegade

There are currently no prizes announced for these tournaments - simply because EA have refused to acknowledge that the UK competitive FIFA scene even exists. If this changes we will let you know, but don't hold your breath.

A WORD OF ADVICE:

Here is a suggestion to people. The majority of players in this tournament will, at some point, lose a game. If any of you can't accept losing a match (by whatever margin), and feel that quitting out is acceptable, please resign from this tournament. I was fed up with inconsiderate players quitting out of the last event, I don't want to see it.

Learn to lose or don't register for our tournaments.

You both need to step back and re-evaluate the situation and whether it is worth arguing over. Everyone is angry after they lose, it's just human nature. As far as I'm concerned, none of the conduct in this tournament has warranted anyone being removed - and I am watching certain players extremely closely as they still carry warnings from the last event.

I'm deleting your posts, this isn't the time nor place.
