I think that's a bit harsh Pirate, sometimes people only see the FREE part.

I wouldn't go as far as saying they deserve it.
Some of the live users are very young and don't know what they are doing.

The people who create these tricks deserve a beating.

It not harsh at all, its just fact! If you are stupid enough to fall for something like this then so be it, hopefully whoever it is will learn not to be so easily duped.

Have none of you ever been tricked, being over trusting is not a bad quality in my eye's,
People get conned everyday because they trust people too much, and saying serve you right is just stupid.

So much for a friendly community.

Yada, yada, yada.. This is life. If you want to trust people don't go on the internet. Somewhere their parents have failed them in teaching them common sense.

"Free stuff, awesome. I'll go over to that website that so obviously looks like it's related to MS and enter all my details.."

Someone handing out free chocolate in the street...I'll remember to tell my kid's it's probably poison.

And being trustworthy are parents failure as guardiens.

what makes me laugh is that wont even happen anyways and even if they did give away free codes they would most likely not work. unless there actually sponsored by Microsoft they could never get there hands on them anyway.

I think you're missing the point of the website "scam". It's to get your account details for malitious purposes. I'm glad you dont work in the security department of Microsoft.

whys that then...

xI Reverend Ix
13-07-2008, 05:28 PM
At the end of the day, it shouldn't be like this just like people going out of a night and worrying about getting beat up for no reason, It shouldn't happen but it does, the people who create the scams deserve very harsh returns.

The reason i've been so annoyed about the comments on this section are...
Not everyone knows, the people who are more clued up are saying serve you right, when they should be educating other about the dangers of the internet not rubbing salt in the wounds of the less clued up.

carocat

You completely misunderstand the point, Reverend, it's all about common sense.

It's like if you try to cross the road without looking if there are cars, of course you're gonna get hit by one. It's common sense that you look out for them.

Someone promising you free stuff, surely you're gonna be suspicious.

Don't have a go at us because you're naive. If you don't have common sense, don't use the internet, simple. Hell, don't even leave the house.

I've not misunderstood anything, saying you deserve it, I get that loud and clear in my eyes i think its a bit harsh.

I am naive and too trustworth but I don't appriciate being told this is a BAD! quality, I lived life getting along and trusting but I've got plenty of mates and people who trust me back so i'm all gravy!

This started out as me just letting people know, and it turned in to a mob of people slating all the people who fell for it, things like that should be kept in you head, who likes to be told their stupid or ugly, i know i don't.

It's not a bad quality, it just won't get you anywhere in this world. Which is unfortunate.

Put your dummy back in Cat - he's just warning people. Are people that become victims of ID theft just irresponsible or too trusting, or simply victims of someone that set out deliberately to deceive them?

You can't have your say and not expect someone to have theirs.

Please don't think this comment as trouble making, but i'll have to disagree for the following,

I may not be rich or extreamly intelligent, but i've a great job, more than enough money in my pocket to keep me busy, loads of friends where respect and trust go both ways and i'm happy, very very happy.

Thats all i need.:D

It happens - these people set out to deliberately scam others, and it works. Same as using Ebay.

Cat, how many times have you left these here boards never to return? ;) Your like a heavy fart. Meant in the nicest possible way of course!

(having read that back, I don't think there is actually a nice way to take it, but well so be it, I've written an explanation as to why it's there now, would be cutting off my nose to spite my face if I deleted it)

The rest of you lot, cut the elitist crap please.

EduTech, well done for not signing your name at the end of your posts. Thats been upsetting me for months.
