Halo 3 4v4 Gametypes

All gametypes at XL 5 on July 25th-27th will be MLG Version 5, which were used at MLG San Diego and will be used at MLG Orlando.

Here is information on Version 5 of MLG's Halo 3 Maps, Settings, and Game Types. Below you will find the official Maps for each Game Type. Note that only MLG CTF on Narrows, MLG CTF on Onslaught, and MLG CTF on The Pit are map-specific, the rest of the Game Types (Team Slayer, Oddball and King of the Hill) work for all MLG Maps. Read below for more additional details about downloading the Maps and changes that were made for v5. We are happy to introduce MLG Amplified. MLG Amplified is a symmetrical, 2-base Map forged in Foundry.

The official MLG Gametypes fileshare for maps and gametypes can be found here

Note – MLG haven't updated their site recently. Instead of Amplified KOTH, Guardian Ball was put back into MLG v5. MLG Amplified was also updated to v5.1 with tweaked spawns.

Halo 3 FFA

The Halo 3 FFA at XL will use the map “Hype” made by Feign. It can be downloaded along with the gametype on Konspiracy's fileshare.
http://www.bungie.net/stats/Halo3/FileShare.aspx?gamertag=K0NSPIRACY

The gametype used will be a 15mins unlimited kill FFA gametype with MLG base player traits.

3. A team doesn't have to use all available screens to them at a station. A team maybe split screen once the tournament has reached full screen stage if they want to.
4. During warm ups, the winning team stays on and the losing team must get up. Winning teams may only stay on for a maximum of 3 games.
5. If a Team fails to report to their Station within 5 minutes of the announcement, they will Forfeit the 1st Game. 10 minutes after the announcement, a Team will Forfeit their Best of 3 Game Match or the 2nd Game of their Best of 5 Game Match. 15 minutes after the announcement, a Team will Forfeit their Best of 5 Game Match.

NOTE - Rule 5 will not be lenient like previous tournaments, regardless of what players or teams are late. XL 5 cannot afford to waste time waiting for players. Any players with doubts about when they are playing must come and speak to Kyuure (Anthony - ME) or Karnage (Gavin) and ask whether its ok for them to go off for food/toilet, etc.

Tournament Rules

1. XL5 will be based on a 64 team double elimination bracket.
2. After losing a match, Teams will fall into the Losers Bracket
3. After losing a match in the Losers Bracket, teams will be eliminated from the tournament.
4. Teams will be seeded by previous XL 4v4 points. Unseeded teams will be seeded by the best 2 FFA performances on their team but cannot outseed any team seeded by XL 4v4 points.
5. Teams with no 4v4 points or no seeding from FFA at XL5 will be seeded randomly.
6. Team rosters with a seed must have a complete roster by Sunday 20th July at midnight (the time & date the MB360 ticket office closes). Teams who make roster changes after that will lose their seed.*
7. Consolation matches will be played to determine 5th and 6th place, 7th and 8th place, and 9th-12th place. These will be best of 5 if time allows for it, if not it will be best of 3.
8. Winners Bracket Rounds 1 & 2 will be played on split screen.
9. Losers Bracket Rounds 1 & 2 will be played on split screen.
10. Full screen will be used from WB 3 and LB 3 onwards throughout the whole tournament.
11. Best of 3 will be used for WB 1, 2, 3 and LB 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
12. Best of 5 will be used for the WB quarters (WB 4) and when playing for top 8 in LB (LB 6)
13. Best of 3 matches will consist of 2 Team Slayers and 1 Team King. CTF and Oddball will not be used until best of 5 is used. The order of games will be TS, Obj, TS.**
14. Best of 5 matches will consist of 2 Team Slayer games and 3 CTF/Oddball/Team King games. The order of games will be Obj, TS, Obj, Obj, TS.**
15. The higher seeded Team must choose to act as the higher or lower Seed for the purpose of Host choice. Hosting choices must be decided with the referee before the series is played.
16. In a best of 3 series, the higher seed chooses a game to host, then the lower seed chooses 1 remaining, then the higher seed gets the game left over.
17. In a best of 5 series, the higher seed chooses 1 game to host. The lower seed then chooses 2 games to host. The higher seed gets the 2 games left over.
18. If a Team Slayer, Team King, or Team Oddball Game should tie, the Game must be replayed. The game must be replayed straight after the tie, not later in the series.
19. Multi Flag Games will have an initial time limit of 15 minutes. If after 15 minutes, one Team is winning and their flag is in the starting position, the Game is over. If, however, the Game Score is tied after 15 minutes, the Game must continue and the next Team to score a Point will win the Game (Sudden Death). If the Game's 30 minute time limit is reached without a winner, the Game must be replayed in Sudden Death.
20. If the initial time limit is reached in a Multi Flag Game, the difference in Points is 1, and the winning Team's flag is not in the starting position, the Game must continue. If the losing Team scores a Point and ties the Game before the flag is returned, the Game must go into Sudden Death, but if the flag is returned, the Game is over.
21. If teams meet for a second time, the series will be expanded. If 2 teams played in a best of 3 and meet in a best of 5, the series will be expanded to best of 7 (first to 4). If 2 teams played in a best of 5 and meet in a best of 5, the series will be expanded to best of 11.
22. When teams meet for a second time, the previous match score will carry over and continue. For example, if Team A beat Team B 3 Games to 0 in the Winners Bracket, the Best of 11 will resume with Game 4 and Team A leading 3 Games to 0. If Games 4 and/or 5 of the Winners Bracket Match were not played, they must be played first with Host for each Game going to the Team that would've hosted in the Winners Bracket. The Team that won the first Match must choose to Host or not Host the 11th Game, if necessary. Host for Games 6-10 will be chosen in the opposite manner in which Host was chosen in the Winners Bracket (See rules 15, 16 and 17).
23. If Teams in a Best of 11 Game Match are scheduled to play a Game Type they have already played against each other in the Championship Bracket, another Game Type will be chosen by the one of the Halo 3 XL Admins.
24. If the Teams meeting in the Finals have not yet faced each other in the Championship Bracket and the Team coming from the Losers Bracket wins a Match, the Winners Bracket Finals Game Types must be played in order to break the tie since both Teams would only have one Match loss. Before the start of the Finals, the Team without a Match loss must choose to have higher Seed hosting privileges for the Finals or Winners Bracket Finals set of Game Types (see rules 15, 16 and 17).

Restricted Player Movement

This XL event will see a restricted player movement between seeded teams on the day the ticket office closes (just under a week before the event). This means once the ticket office closes, any seeded teams cannot make roster changes (for seeded and unseeded players). Any team that does this will lose their seeding and go into the event unseeded, with every seeded team below that team shifting up one seed.

(Note that any teams/players who do lose their seed will NOT lose any seeding points they have)

A few reasons behind this is so that teams can know potential fixtures up to the finals without worrying about brackets changing, as well as being able to prepare for certain match ups. This also helps stop snaking going on, as a good team could lose their seed.

The deadline for all roster changes is Sunday 20th July at midnight. Any teams making roster changes close to the deadline must Private Message me via forums or E-mail me (Anthony@Halo3Forum.co.uk), so that the timestamp on the PM/E-mail shows that the roster change happened before the deadline.

Any questions about this, don't hesitate to PM me or contact me by e-mail/MSN - Anthony@Halo3Forum.co.uk

Does this mean that we cant drop it off the map deliberatly? what about if it is accidently dropped off, like when someone is going over the mancannon/

You can drop it off the map whenever you like, what it means is that you can't throw it out of reach out of the map boundry.
