Synopsis in spoiler code for those who don't wanna spoil a thing :)
Shinigami own notebooks called “Death Notes” which are used as killing devices. Whoever’s name they write down in a death note will die within 40 seconds. Shinigami Ryuk dropped his Death Note in the human world where it’s found by honor high school student Light. With the death note actually having directions in it for its use, Light discovers he now has the power to discreetly kill people, and with this new power he plans to change the world in his ideal world by killing off criminals. Eventually the governments of the countries around the world notice the unusual amounts of deaths of their criminals, and figure out someone is behind them, but they have no way of discovering it themselves. That’s when they hire L, a master detective, to find out who is behind the murders.

I watched the first 10 minutes of the first episode and thought it sounded pretty decent so I've got the first 13 episodes dling. Although this does mean I probably won't finish the first episode until the whole thing finishes dling in like a week >_>

That synopsis makes it sound wank, when in fact, this is probably the best anime out right now. I prefer it to bleach, or naruto.

I was sceptical, episode 7 clinched it for me, and then episode 13 clinched it again.
I'm loving it, and it is actually smart and thought provoking.

Right, after everyone's been raving so much about this (and I am/was bored) I thought I'd give it a go. Never really watched an anime before tough (bar a couple of Naruto episodes)
Only watched the first episode so far, but I really like it. It is quite interesting to watch him change throughout it.
But what are the Shinigami? And is his name really 'Light'?
Really like the music as well. Anyone know where I could get hold of that? (PM, msn, please)

Death Note is ****ing quality. I'm just waiting for episode 6 to buffer (you all know how crap my net is). So far every episode has been quality.
Episode 2 was quality and 4 and 5 as well. Love the way he pulled it off and killed the FBI agents. He is getting way to cocky though. Can't wait to see if they are really going to meet L or if it's just another trick. Talking about a cliffhangar at the end of 5 though.... Why is my net so slow?

I am now getting into this, just finished episode 5 and things are really starting to get into Gear. It is really thought provoking and is something different to the norm.
However although i have only seen up to episode 5 so far i could see from a mile away that Ray Penbars wife would go after him. However his plan had been flawless to that point, they even made a big deal of 'her' in the conversation and it apparently does not cross his mind once that she may be a problem
Anyhow, very good, but i think i will slow down my watching a bit, geting through them too quick :)

So all you newbie DN fans know, it's up to ep 16 so far. They come out on tuesdays, and it's usually subbed by wednesday evening.
100% I'll start watching these things tommorow. :D

I'm on episode 8 now and it's quality, although my FF decided to crash halfway through, so I'm downloading it now.
Can't believe that L actually went into the school exams.
Finished downloading it now.
How much time passes between the end of the exams to the ceremony? And Light is getting more and more deluded.
I've watched the first 7 episodes today and this show is absoloutely amazing.

Just watched all episodes up to 16. I'm liking the story a lot.
But the whole renouncing the Death Note and forgetting all about it doesn't make sense really. Also, how did L know that Misa was the second Kira?

They had DNA evidence of hers on the last video tape.
Im not sure how Light plans to sort out the situation but he's gotta have something up his sleave.

Wow what a sneaky ****, thing is though now light is all resolved to catch Kira how is he ever going to get it back? Or is he never going to get it back? Will the death note just be passed from hand to hand getting worse and worse whilst L and Light try and capture it? If his memory has been properly wiped then when he gets it back then Ryuk will fill him in and then what will he do? I really hope light gets the death note back though personally. I dont want a new character to start his own arc with it

Pretty darn awsome episode, quite intrested about what Light's plan is to get the death note back or just for someone else of like mind to conitnue with it. Either way I don't really like the whole coperate fools in the basement thing hopefully that won't last long.

Just finished watching it.
The whole Identity crisis with L and the cop quitting were odd. Why is he crying?
What makes me wonder though: It's all this time going past and there are all these murders yet they don't really seem to do anything about it.
Also interesting that a borrower of a Death Note can't see the Shinigami and therefore not trade for the eyes, I suppose it makes sense. Is there a timelimit on how long the Death Note can be borrowed for?
Talking about eyes, does Misa still have the eyes?
I'm quite looking forward to next week with the introduction of the 2 new people.
No Misa loses the eyes but she doesn't get half her life span she gave up back. But i wonder how long the Death Dod that died had left because doesnt that mean she could live to be 150 or something if say the Death God had 300 years left?
Also how exactly is light going to get out of this and is it Rem doing the murders at the moment im not sure if i missed something but i'm confused about that.

Yep im definately sure the Death God who died passed on his remaining life span to Misa. Don't know if he did it intentionally or not though because it said somewhere that even Death Gods don't know much about the Death Note. She also got the Death Note that belonged to that Death God. But i want to know how much life span that Death God had left! That would make things more interesting.
What i dont get is if there is another God working wit those corporate people or is that Rem acting on instuctions from Light. And has light disowned his Death Note yet because if he has i dont know how i missed it and if he hasn't he's doing a good job of convincing people he's o there side. Whats he going to do from here? I remember him telling Ryuk about disowning the Death Note but im sure he said only when he gave the signal.

Have you heard of Stage6.com (http://www.stage6.com)? You can find all of the Death Note eps on there at very nice quality and fast speeds, unless your connection isn't too good?
problem with Stage6 is for some reason it doesn't let me search episode numbers so I have to manually browse everything with death note in the title :(

i normally watch them on my laptop with a wireless connectiona and i found
when i tried to download episode 1 it was taking too long so i just watched them all on youtube. not great quality but as long as I can read the subs its ok

admitedly stage 6 can be complete shite sometimes, like bowser says the search doesn't work very well, and the speed is very eratic, it's either amazing or bloody slow.
It's not even at beta stages yet though, so it is bound to get better. Keep supporting it and spreading the word, the more people who know about it the more likely we're likely to be able to watch our anime on it
just tried to watch episode 21 on stage 6 but the voices were wrong. they had different people talking when it should have been someone else so i ended up watching it on youtube instead
