Please read and understand both the IIYAMA CALL OF DUTY 4 5v5 SEARCH AND DESTROY and the MatchBox360 General Rules listed below:

Start Date: Sunday 22nd June
Team Limit: 32 (increased to 64)
Event Admin: KONSPIRACY

IIYAMA CALL OF DUTY 4 5v5 SEARCH AND DESTROY RULES:

All players must be registered on this site and be resident in the UK or Europe to enter.

Any team found fielding non-registered players is in breach of the MatchBox360 rules and will subsequently be disqualified. It is the responsibility of each team to ensure opponents only play with fully registered team mates. As such, please supply evidence (screen shot or game links) to prove any use of illegal players.

Each team must nominate one player to be team captain. It is the responsibility of the team captain to communicate with other teams and event staff, arrange the teams fixtures within the timescales provided and report results accordingly. Failure to arrange a match within the given timescale will result in removal from the competition.

The tournament will follow a double elimination knockout format, whereby a loss will demote your team to the losers bracket. A further loss in the losers bracket will result in your teams elimination from the tournament.

Teams will be seeded based on performance in the previous MatchBox360 XL LAN tournament. Any teams who did not take part will be seeded at random.

Substitutes:
- Each team may nominate upto 4 substitute players.
- Substitutes may only be registered to one team taking part in this event.
- Substitutions can only be made in the pre-game lobby and not whilst a game is in progress.

Transfers:
- Transfer windows will be available at the end of each round of fixtures allowing a maximum 2 x player changes/additions to your squad.
- You may not transfer in players who have already played for another team during the tournament.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

ROUND 1: 22nd June - 29th June
Subsequent rounds and losers bracket will be played weekly thereafter.

Please note: if teams are unable to agree a mutually convenient time for their fixture then the default time for each fixture will be Sunday at 8:00pm unless otherwise stated. Any team who do not show at this time (as per no show rules stated below) will be deemed to have forfeited the fixture.

Each fixture will be played using the following format:
- Fixtures will consist of a best of 5 map series.
- Each team will host 2 maps.
- The home team will host maps 1 and 2. The away team will host maps 3 and 4.
- The non-host team will have choice of maps and spawn location.
- Each map may only be selected once per fixture (ie upto 5 unique maps to be played).
- Map details are to be stated by the team captains in the appropriate match arrangement threads. The teams drawn as the home team will have priority of map choice.
- If teams are tied after playing their selected maps (ie 2-2), then the team who has won the most rounds in the first 4 maps will host the game and the other team will choose the map. (please note: the 5th map does not have to be played if the outcome of the result has already been determined).

All fixtures will be played using the following format:

Game Mode:
Search and Destroy

Map Restrictions :
All maps are allowed with the exception of Shipment and all DLC maps (ie Broadcast, Chinatown, Creek and Killhouse).

Search and Destroy Options:
Round Length: 2.5 Minutes

Mounted Machine Guns (MMG)
P90

Perks:
All players must designate the following perks to their custom classes:

Perk 1: Bombsquad
Perk 2: UAV Jammer
Perk 3: Iron Lungs

Despite perks being disabled in the game set-up options, an error in game code results in some perks still working online.
Please enable Killcam to ensure disallowed perks are not used (ie such as 3 x frag, special grenades or claymore).
If your opponents use illegal perks, you must provide photographic or video evidence.

Please note: Any player found to be using the grenade launcher, mounted machine guns, P90 or illegal perks will result in a default loss for your team on that map.
It is the responsibility of both teams to ensure the game settings are correct, and by playing in and completing the game you accept the game settings set by the host player.

Hosting and Connections:
- Teams are requested to ensure the player with the best connection on their team hosts the lobby.
- A 3 minute lag test should be completed prior to the start of the game series. If any player falls below 3 bars (ie yellow) then an alternative host should be found.
- Please ensure there is no other internet equipment active in your household and there is no one downloading using the same connection whilst you are playing.
- If a player lags out or disconnects during the game, then the game is to carry on and the result will stand. The player who disconnected may rejoin after that game has been completed.

The team drawn as the home team must set up a lobby using the settings above and maps selected, then invite the other team captain to join (please ensure you have sufficient room on your friends list to add / receive friend requests from your opponent).

After the maps hosted by the home team have been played, the away team must set up a lobby using the settings above and maps selected, then invite the other team captain to join.

If a 5th and deciding game is required, then the host team is to set up a lobby as detailed above.

If as the home team, there is no response from your opponent for upto 15 minutes after the scheduled start time then the game will be declared a "no show", and the home player will receive a default win and progress to the next round.

If as the away team, you do not receive a friend request or game invite by the scheduled start time then you must firstly add your opponent to your friends list, and if after 15 minutes there has been no response then the game will declared a "no show". The away team will receive a default win and progress to the next round.

The winning team must report the result in the appropriate results thread in the IIYAMA Call of Duty 4 5v5 forum. Obviously, if there was a "no show" then the winner by default must report the game details in the forum asap.

Please be aware that it is every players responsibility to ensure the result is reported correctly. If you have any issues with the reported result you must contact an MatchBox360 representative immediately. You must provide clear photographic evidence in case the result is questioned.

Any performance of known glitches in the game will be classed as cheating. If you suspect a team to have used glitches, cheats or abusive behaviour, you must provide sufficient evidence of reasonable quality and the appropriate action will be taken.

Full fixture details & results will be made available online as soon as the results are posted in the forums.

The winner of the MatchBox360 tournament will play the winner of the Console Lounge tournament in the Grand Final.

Prizes: IIYAMA COD4 5v5 Search and Destroy Prizes (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6633)

I can see what Rumsey is saying here, you should make it 1 P90 per team. Because P90 whores like ImmenSe will just be a 5 man P90 team and ruin it.

Does this mean i am not alowed to have the grenade launcher attachment on my M16? Obviously i was not planning on using it but i was hoping to use the LAN class's for practice and on the LAN class's M16 has grenade launcher which i swear changes the way the iron sights look just slightly....

Also, IF i am alowed the grenade launcher attachment (but obv not alowed to use the grenade launcher) dont forget that grenade launcher attachments takes up Perk 1...

Thanks Kon. Can you update that in the rules then coz last thing i want is someone complaining that i dont have bomb squad in killcam because i have the grenade launcher attachment.
:D

Tangoo
25-06-2008, 08:20 PM
it shouldn't really matter if you dont have bomb squad on because it will show in the kill cam no perk in slot 1, so theres no advantage there - only idiots would complain :P

Updated perk 1 rules earlier.

H2O.DJ.Drewman
26-06-2008, 02:57 PM
SO with the update on perk 1 rules, does this then mean that you could use say grip with a LMG or shotgun for example, this won't show up on killcam and this certainly isn't an unused attachment, but if someone is using it, this would be impossible to prove.
I think you should stick with the 3 original perk rules - end of - this'll stop any fuss.
LAN rules should be different to online rules, there are no 'class' rules here, if you practice with LAN classes for a online tourny that's your choice, but adjusting the rules to Perk 1: Bombsquad (or unused attachment) for a online tourny just because someone mentioned LAN rules, is opening the door to trouble IMO.

KONSPIRACY
26-06-2008, 04:45 PM
Again another good point Drew.

The rule adjustment does open the doors to use of grip and obviously it cant be turned off once assigned. TBH unlike the grenade launcher which you do have the choice whether to use or not, Grip is not as much of an advantage however I can see how this could cause problems especially with proving any illegal use of grenade launcher. As such I will retract the rule update and return to strict use of designated perks only.

All players are to assign perk 1 as follows:

Perk 1: Bombsquad

The rules will also specify that the Grip attachment is not allowed due to being assigned to perk 1 in weapon restriction rules.

@ Strings - for this tournament you will have to get used to the slightly different look of the M16 iron sight, and practise the system link weapon class set-up in other online games. This is obviously for the benefit of all teams competing and to ensure that all players abide by the weapon restrictions rules. Thanks in advance for your co-operation.
