£5 for coaching?!?!

I'm really not happy about this. Why should a coach pay exactly? How much money does a coach stand to win?

If a wristband costs £5 to make then fair enough, but somehow I doubt this.

Please Explain why I should fork out more money?

These rules have been introduced to prevent the problems we experienced last time with coaches not being registered and joining teams during the tournaments. This caused serious delays with the tournament schedule with players due to play fixtures not being available due to having taken coaching positions. In order to control this, we have introduced these coaching rules and a small fee to cover costs of implementation and the additional wristbands required to administer this.

We suggest that teams cover the cost of having the coach and as with previous events it is at the teams discretion whether or not they award their coach any of the prize money.

Are you actually coaching your Halo team?

The idea of a coach isn't just to stand there and shout abuse, a coach must learn the teams strategies, keep them focussed, and time power weapons for the team.

Also, there has been problems with coaching at past events, as pretty much every team gets a coach, and there is fixture clashes and the coach is just there to shout.

I think it's a good idea. It may mean there will be no coaches at XL but so be it. At least this will pretty much mean that the only coaches that sign up are ones serious about coaching the team and not just doing it for the sake of it.

Well I understand where your coming from. Coaches are a very important part of eSports if we want to see it grow, and having the wristband is a good idea.

@ Anthony, no, I'm a Halo noob, we were planning on me coaching vVv Focus. Gears of War is the game where I uphold most of my knowledge. I have been with the team while they develop their strats with LordJerith and our US players. I watch all the team's scrims. I have also played with the team in scrims. I also have the added experience of learning how to coach from the gaming organisation that brought about the best coaches in GoW.

There's 'fun' and there's excessive.. I can only think of one occasion where we've actually had to intervene in these situations so far, I wouldn't worry about it :p

the coach of the winning team should be able to slap the other coach with a dildo

Also rofl @ terbinator's **genius** idea.
