I'm unsure about this one actually.

I love all the new ones GTA IV brought with it, the improved shooting/cover system, the mission structure, the way the one interacts with the story, the way the city seems like a living city [for the first 20 hours anyway], the missions, Niko's character..

But there's something about Vice City, the town itself that I love and to an extent miss in GTA IV. The city had more to give with Prawn Island, Starfish Island, Little Havanna, downtown.. Driving round the city seemed more fun I guess. And then there's characters like Kent Paul, the lawyer, the band which made the game.

I'm disappointed of the lack of cameos in GTA IV. Everytime they mention Vice City in GTA IV I sort of expect someone to pop up.

GTA: London
GTA: Liverpool

Haha, GTA Liverpool? As if there's not enough crime up here :p

I looooove IV. It really does feel like the city exists (priobably because it does, under a different guise). However, Vice City is a close second. The 80s Miami theme of VC was PERFECT, and I loved Tommy Vercetti.

It'd be awesome though with DayC as an unlockable character with abilities such as getting a pasty from the square everyday and occasionally leaving the house to go to a LAN event.

Btw GTA 3 best yet, gangsters who don't talk should be brought back!

3 people for San Andreas, 0 for Vice City. You all disappoint me.

I hate these private polls. It's too early to say.

Agreed. How can anyone choose SA over VC?

Well, I'd say that Vice City had a great feeling to it (music, radio stations, characters, story et cetera), but the city felt rushed (about one fifth of it was beach, and none of the locations felt alive) and the game felt shallow after completing the story. Whereas, San Andreas was anything but shallow, and the map was epic and it was really fun to drive from city to city. The story wasn't as good as Vice City, but what it lacked, it made up for in the sheer scale of the missions and variety. I think it depends if you want to play by your rules (you'd pick San Andreas), or the developer's (you'd pick Vice City).

A week ago I would have said Vice City, GTA IV then SA, but I miss the variety of environments that SA had to offer. I dont think IV uses the map to its maximum potential and it gets a bit boring after a while passing tower block after tower block.

SA definitely had the best map, whilst VC and IV had the best story, with IV leading the way with added extras.

I'm bored of four after like 4 missions. Most overhyped and disappointing game, ever.

You guys thought it dragged along? I thought it was just right, especially how all the missions come together.

How the diamonds get picked up, the other guys steal them, you steal them back/kill them then sell them in the Libertonian, get ambushed, go after the people. Then the kidnapping, losing the diamonds and so on. I thought it was brilliant how that all got together.

And I didn't think that any mission was boring or felt repetitive.

Gaskin: The initial missions are the same you find in any GTA game, they're the tutorial. Do some more and they pick up.

Each to their own. The first missions are crap but it gets better. I don't think the game was long enough - needs more story missions.

the game it self is fantastic, the missions are the same mission over and over again, other than a few exceptions like the one where your hanging on the side of the truck < This mission was all over the reviews and seems to me they showed the best mission to give you an idea of how the missions play, which isn't the case, that mission is the exception all the other missions are get a car kill him that it.

And the story is very unclear. it jumps from character to character so many times, its hard to follow. I didn't think packie was going to be a huge character who is involved so much of the story.

the whole story is based on him getting revenge on one of the two guys, he has to find and kill the one who betrayed him , yeah ? but no, decided to change the end boss 1/2 way through the game which was some stupid decision imo.

I thought that made perfect sense:
Dimitri betrayed him and kidnapped Roman amongst other things. The mission where you go to save Roman in the warehouse Niko was quite emotional or at least the voice acting was excellent. Dimitri kept popping up and while he wasn't a major character for most of the game he was still pulling strings in the background

Bernie/Florian obviously had nothing to do with it and you found the other guy.

One thing that didn't make all that much sense to me was the whole thing about the Italian, Ray? Was he a rat or did Pellegrino just have him killed cause he was a prick?

Bit late, but yes, Supercars 2 was awesome. I always failed the god damn driving tests though.

And I didn't think that any mission was boring or felt repetitive.

Story wise it wasn't repetitive however the fighting has more repetition than a game of Lone Wolves Hammerz it's literally go to weapons store > get assault rifle or carbine > LT Shoot and maybe flick the right thumbstick a few times > back to weapons store to fill up.

I do admit I like the story alot but it's like "Kill this guy, ice that guy, whack that woman." There's a few chase missions aswell and I did enjoy the one were you chase the 'American Bikers' (faggots) as they like to call themselves down the railway lines and over that huge bridge.

i'm starting to see the game get a bit boring now, someone mentioned it before but it needs some other enviroment other then just city. And more innovative missions, I swear GTA used to have loads of them.

It did, and they all built up to a big boss battle, you will be disapointed.....

GTA4 has a great soundtrack. I prefer listening to an awsome clasic than one of the song that i had listened to over and over (kaiser cheifs)

With all these stabbings & shootings recently, I think rockstar should put a new clothing shop in it that sells only stab/bulletproof vests.
