FIFA08: Be A Pro - Final Fixture and Results

And so, after a long and gruelling tournament, the Final is upon us!

A strong Manchester United side take on a surprising finalist of Liverpool - with two teams both wanting to be crowned FIFA08: Be A Pro Champions!

The final will be played by midnight Wednesday 30th April.


You are to play each player twice as part of any one fixture alternating host accordingly.
The host will set up the game and play as the home team.

In the event of the aggregate score resulting in a draw, an additional game of 4 minutes per half will be played hosted by the away team stated in the fixture. If teams are still tied then the fixture will be decided on penalties (away goals rule does not apply in this tournament).

Very frustrating games! Either team could have won, and in the end it was Clanhoppers. Never mind - these things happen. Our defense wasn't good enough and Clanhoppers took advantage of it, fair play to them.

I think we dominated the first leg, and my lack of finesse and guile in front of goal was very poor. Dan and Nimac took both their chances and sneaked a draw. Second leg, we got a shellacking, and we should have lost. I lost count the amount of times the ball sneaked past the wrong side of the post for Liverpool from headers (I'd say about five times). I gifted them a chance near the end with a poor kick-out (I don't know which button it is to boot it), but luckily they missed.

Level after two legs, the third game I think could have gone either way. It went ours, fortunately, and we scored a nice goal from a header, and the second goal was the finisher.

Good games Dan and Nimac. Haven't had such a tense match in a while. Kudos for going with Liverpool - admittedly Ashley carried me through the three games save for a few through-balls I made.

I know what you mean about the headers - makes FIFA so frustrating! Five open headers, all of them headed well - yet they all missed the target. United get one header at a crazy angle, and it goes in. Ah well, that's life!

Everyone of those I thought was in for sure. It even looked like it - I thought the game wasn't colliding the ball with the net. Unlucky guys - still, it's nice to beat Liverpool, a Liverpool fan, and a closet Liverpool fan. ;)

Great games guys although I think if Dan hadn't been so under the weather we might have carried it off.....can't blame Torres for the number of headers he missed! :)

It was just nice to get to the final and Gaskin for the record I scored both of our goals!!

Anyway, thanks Dan for organising this, now lets get some more FIFA tourneys underway :)
