What you think about the game?
I think Chelsea were very unlucky. They had the chances just couldn't put them away, especially Joe Cole.
Liverpool's goal was lucky but Kuyt is a oppertunist and he took it and did well to score
Riise was very unlucky towards the end. All in all a good game.
What you guys think?

Chelsea were extremely lucky - only three superb saves from Cech kept them in the game, and then Riise obviously with the own goal.
On the flip side - Chelsea + defending worse than Arsenal = LOL :D

Riise was very unlucky. He should of kicked it but had to make a quick decision. To be fair i think Liverpool will go to the next game to win. And will put on the same performance, with the exception of Riise's own goal :p

Well I'm not going to ***** about the referee like a girl, so it's not exactly the same.

I thought the ref had a good game tbh, only 1 yellow in the whole game.

Referee made terrible decisions in both directions. Expecially when Terry stood his ground and got penalized.

Typical lucky Chelsea, Avram Grant must be so happy right now. He offered that team nothing all night, we have it all to do now in the 2nd leg!
We should have killed that game in the 2nd half in the period where we played them off the park. Yet again though Cech showed why he is probably the best in the world and why Chelsea needed him to be fit for this game...no other keeper would have made those saves.
I just hope we throw everything at them at Stamford Bridge and that Torres is on fire next week.

Not trying to kill your excuses but i didn't think his saves were anything more than what any keeper should of done. All the saves he were down his neck, especially the one he did for the cameras near the end (Gerrads volley).
I thought Renia had a more impressive game with his overall stability at the back, didn't put a foot wrong and look solid all night.

It's true. They were very lucky. If they took the opputunites at the beginning then it would of been a fair match. But they didn't terrible misses by Joe Cole which really should of been scored.
Also to add to it Riise's header. Very good game overall i thought. And i think Riise was just very unlucky but if he did take a second longer It would of been a goal by Anelka anyways.

Wuh?

I agree. Apart from the fist 20 minutes, we played them off the field.
We should have killed that game in the 2nd half in the period where we played them off the park.
Er, see above :p
Yet again though Cech showed why he is probably the best in the world and why Chelsea needed him to be fit for this game...no other keeper would have made those saves.
Brilliant keeper, although Torres should have scored with that clear chance in the first half.
I just hope we throw everything at them at Stamford Bridge and that Torres is on fire next week.
Those boring ****s will play for the goalless draw, with Drogba taking days off to go to his local swimming pool, practicing for the Olympic diving event. We need the first goal.

lolololzzzzz at liverpool playing us of the park, you's were at home and looked lost half the game with boots up the field, etc... one clear chance the whole game and not to mention the scrappy goal use scored, (wasnt a free kick, took it 20yards away from were it happened, miskick to kuyt)
Fair enough we didn't create much but we were happy playing for a draw and got it....
Can't see us loosing now unless the ref is like most refs and give liverpool everything again....

oh the irony.....
maybe we should refer back to last weeks thread...
"arsenal didnt take their chances so its their fault, liverpool were the better team coz they scored more goals, doesnt matter if it was a bad penalty decision"
you say chelsea were lucky that liverpool didnt score, but how do you know that if they had of chelsea wouldnt have come out all guns blazing and got 2 or 3 away goals not just a 1-1 draw? more plausable than liverpool gettin an equalizer from open play in the last 10mins last week imo.
i could go on but i won't its too late

How did Liverpool exactly get to where they are in the Champions League now? Oh yes, Luck and shitty referees.
Sorry but LMAO at Liverpool fans complaining about luck.

Why do people keep saying fans? I think you mean Liverpool fan. My first post in this thread says I'm not complaining about the referee like some butthurt finger-pointing crybaby, and the second post clearly shows that I disagree with nimac's "Lucky Chelsea" statement. We lost fair and square, and Riise should be hanged. End of ****ing thread.

For the record I was the first to admit that we were lucky............Quote: To be honest it's blatantly obvious that Lady Luck was shining on the Pool over the last 2 legs but if you take into consideration the number of draws we have had this season perhaps we were due a little bit of luck.
I am just stating that Chelsea too have now got their portion of luck, I hope we can turn it around next week.
Gaskin who do you support again?

Chelsea deserved to be beaten 3-0, as they played absolute s***, but Liverpool did not take their chances thanks to cech.
I do not think that Liverpool will turn it around at the bridge, as Chelsea will play defensive football and probably get lucky again.

Ooooo, a chelsea united final, what a thriller that will be.
Might be as exciting as the milan - juventus final from the other year.
But i'd much rather watch that then see hundreds of liverpool fans use fake tickets, or grab real tickets out of fellow fans hands or even climb over the walls and barge past security and put fans in danger.

Nimac what are you on about? I'm simply saying it's ironic Liverpool fans are claiming Chelsea to be lucky when Liverpool are in that situation due to the same exact thing. It was nothing against you. Don't be hating. :D

Liverpool's goal lucky too. A complete miss kick on the edge of the box and it luckily lands at the feet of Kuyt so I can't see how people say Chelsea were lucky.
Roadpog
23-04-2008, 03:34 PM
I don't think Liverpool was lucky. Just took an Oppertunity. He obv missed kick it and looks like it still played into there hand as Kuyt was there. Was lucky he was there but he took it and scored. Chelseas goal was lucky. That is it. Riise was so unlucky to do that but if he had gone for the kick maybe Anelka would of scored, Took a chance and it turned out for the worse.
Maybe next match we can see some real football and not chelsea shitting themselves all the time. I hope Man Utd win the cup though :D

Wait, the chelsea player was not unlucky for miss kicking it, but riise was unlucky for "miss-heading" it....
how does that work...
Roadpog
23-04-2008, 04:02 PM
Chelsea player didn't miss kick it though it was a Liverpool player that miss kicked it into the path of Kuyt. Think Mascherano or something.

Riise's mistake was an embarresment really wasn't it, why or why did he not blast it into the stands... i know he's left footed but surely 'Anywhere will do' at that late stage of the game.
Roadpog
23-04-2008, 04:54 PM
Yea thats what i thought Bonzo. But Anelka was right behind him he probably thought that if he kicked it Anelka might of got there first and was safer to head it. Obviously he was wrong.

It was lucky but the goal wasn't. It was a oppertunity that he took. He didn't expect the ball to be there. Chelsea should of cleared that ball if Lampard didn't piss about then that wouldn't of happend.

Your an idiot. If the miss kick wouldn't have fell at his feet then they wouldn't have had the chance to score which therefore makes the goal lucky.

Goal isn't lucky. The way it got there it was. Plenty of players around him. Makele should of done better. He just muscled him off and scored. Skill not luck.

Never hating Gaskino...too long in the tooth for that young 'un ;)
Just stating the case.....extract from somewhere that shall remain nameless :)
Gerrard refused to put any blame on Riise for his mistake that handed a vital away goal to the Blues.
He said: "These ties are settled by small details and unfortunately that bit of luck has gone against us. Maybe we'll get some luck at Stamford Bridge.
"There are no fingers being pointed at John Arne."
Did you hear, John Arne Riise was arrested by police on the M62. Apparently he was heading in the wrong direction.
