Come on lads.... sign up.... if I don't get more players then this event is going to be pointless.

Sorry Matt I would have signed up but unfortunately due to PES being so bad online I decided it was time to cut my losses and get as much as I could while the game still had some value so I traded it in last week against my shiny new copy of GTA iv

Rankings is dead nowadays, my interest in the game has completely gone. Looks to be the same for most other people as well :( Hopefully things can get back to normal with PES2009 :D

Yeah, I've pretty much lost all faith in LAN events with those Xbox 360 pods. Main reason being is the fact that most of them aren't patched, and it's a lottery really as to whether the game disc was released before or after the patch. Nevermind, actually playing it online.

lads the interest in this is not very good.... I understand why and agree...
do people think we should run online events with this version :)
I think it seems abit pointless with the feedback we are getting.

It all depends on the popularity Matt. If you can feasibly populate an online tournament, keep it going. People know the risks. If you can't fill it up, save it for LAN events.

I played some online today to see what its like and if its got better...
I found it inconsistent and tbh the worst I have experienced :)
I can see why now people are put off.... I have a damn good connection and I got loads of lag..
Until the problems fixed, I think lag issue will bring the event down in terms of quality and maybe give unfair advantages... therefore I think its best not to run events online as its going to really rack people off :)

It's sad that it happened to PES to be honest. Obviously I used to love it and play in as many tournaments as I could, but PES2008 was a disaster. What bugs me the most is that Konami haven't made any effort to fix it :(

The WII version is excellent tbh... probably because they spent some time on it :)
Pes to me has gone downhill ever since they introduced the online element... one of the biggest and popular sports games made by one of the most well known games publishers.... has turned into a disaster on all fronts this year.
I really am worried about the franchise... I grew up with it and next to Street Fighter... its my all time favourite franchise.... I don't want to see it go downhill, due to more time being spent on its pr, and trying to secure casual type players who were not able to get to grips the the older pes games which were rock and very tactical.
I think the way its going and how Fifa is developing and taking steps.... I could see that franchise becoming the ultimate title.... Seabass needs to get his finger out ;)
