Considering you're advertising their tournament on your site surely it would be courtesy to keep you in the loop and tell you what teams have entered. if anything to encourage you to drum up more interest if there isnt enough teams entering.

Infidel you seem misinformed, this event is being run by a group of sites including Matchbox so they arent advertising someone elses event, and there are enough teams, I'm not sure what made you think there wasnt. But given its a charity event the more teams the more money for charity so the more the merrier :D

Well my point still stands, why does Kon have to ask how many teams who use Matchbox have entered? Surely he should be given access to see who's registered? Especially if its part of a collaberation of sites that Matchbox is part of.
And i never said i thought there werent enough teams, i simply said IF there wasnt then informing Kon of the lack of numbers would be useful so he would know to continue drumming up interest.

The full list of teams signed up will go live after entry closes on Monday, followed by the actual fixtures on Thursday.

I'm not sure how your point stands, you stated matchbox were promoting someone elses event and this is wrong. IF Kon has an issue he is quite capable of speaking for himself in private where such a conversation would be better held and certainly not here on a public forum.
This is a charity event where you would hope to see people band together to help ensure its success and further ensure many more of its kind in the future rather than complaints of minor issues by people who are not involved or affected by the issue they raise.

@ Infidel - I was simply asking how many players/teams had signed up so far and informing you that registration closes on Monday 14th April. I am in contact with all parties concerned but unfortunately there isnt a registration database similar to what we have on MatchBox360.
If anyone would like to enter this charity tournament with a load of great prizes up for grabs please do so asap

My point was about Kon not getting informed which i merely thought that he would be so and not have to ask, whether MB are advertising it or are a part of a collaberation is irrelevant really. I was just inquiring (towards Kon) why he wasnt told who had entered and the parts of my post you picked up on were not answering my original question, just enhancing my understanding of the surrounding situation, thanks for that :). I wasnt trying to stick up for him and campaign for him, im not an arse licker ;). As Kon has now answered my question by saying there is no database, im quite satisfied .

Whilst I doubt it was your intention your first post was defensive by pressuming Kon wasnt informed, that then creates the assumption there is an issue even when (as is now clear) there wasnt, besides.... did it occur to you Kon might have been intentionally bumping the thread to garner the attention of those who havnt signed up ;)
Anyway I'm glad thats been sorted now, so do we see you in the tourney Infidel??

Smileys make all the difference dont they ;),and if Kon wants to bump a thread he simply has to put ^BUMP^ and no one will argue since he is God. *arse licking* :p
Im not a RBSV2 player myself as i simply dont like the game so no i wont be in the tournament, but my clan GenetiX will be, under the amazing leadership of Strings, they should go far :p.
I was a CoD4 player but am returning to Gears to set up a new GenetiX team which will hopefully be present at XL5.

Well good luck to Strings and co and good to see them entering :)
All being well i should make it to XL 5, Kon asked me to the first few and I couldnt make it, I think he gave up after that lmao. Then this one my boss asked me to come along and help out and I couldnt make this one either cus it clashed with my husbands 30th birthday....talk about bad timing.. I've said to Kon he needs to check my diary before organising anymore :p hehe

Woundz have you completed the part of registration 'after' making payment?
If not you do at this point get asked to list the team line up including captain so you can change it at this time. If you have already done that bit let me know and we can sort it out :)

Whats up with these restrictions by the way? I mean why wouldn't you restrict C4's?!
kleaneasy
17-04-2008, 04:11 PM
C4 was only raised as a possible restriction last night and then only by 2 teams. The final rules had to be confirmed by today so there wasnt a reasonable opportunity to raise it.

Obviously you would need to actually play the game to understand where I'm coming from. A little bit of research into the gamebattles/MLG settings for A+D wouldn't go a miss next time.

I do play the game
When we set up the tournament it was aimed at the entire EU community which do not all play by GB rules. Since entry closing it was clear most entered were UK teams so we gave the option to vote on the ONLY rule raised as a concern at that time.
Contrary to what some believe GB does not have the 'perfect' rules to play by and given they are currently experiencing a mass revolt on some of their recent rule changes I'm surprised you use them as an example to follow ;)
Ultimately you knew the rules before you signed up and perhaps more importantly it is an event aimed at having fun and raising money for charity, playing by rules beyond your comfort zone wont do any harm and you might just enjoy yourselves ;)

Ok sorry, I didn't realize most peoples idea of fun was to sit in a corner with a C4 for 5 min. Your right, it is for charity, but that isn't going to stop most teams from wanting to win it.

The reality is you can never please everyone its simply not possible.
As far as I am concerned we already have the winners....... there are 14 of them listed in the other thread because every one of you guys has taken money out of your pockets to play some games purely for the charities we are raising money for. Ok so there are prizes but thats not why you guys entered, you've all entered because its a charity event and you want to be a part of that and I hope no matter how frustrating the matches may or may not get no one forgets that and enjoys it :)

Im fairly sure that most teams entered to win it or to see how far they can get in the first proper online tourney, not just for fun and to give money to charity. Once they've paid that initial donation it becomes a tourney like any other with each teams sights set on getting as far as they can and winning the prizes. Just the way it is.

To be honest iD want to win every tournament and go out to do so but this one is an exception as it is a chance to raise money for people that aint even got Xbox's. We dont even play A&D but will give it a little shot to have a laugh in this tournie and play for fun

OMG are you new?? This is A&D not Team Survival so the C4 isnt as much of a power tool but if in doubt- frag it out. (although i would like to say also that i prefer no C4 but oh well). Anyway woundz- everytime i watch someone go BOOM on one of my C4's a little smile appears on my lips so yes i guess it is my idea of fun. :p
