EA Uefa Euro 2008

Has anyone else tried the playable demo of this yet and if so what do you reckon?

I have played a few games and I'm pretty impressed, it's almost like a cross between PES and FIFA. The gameplay to me seems very slick and visually it's pretty damn impressive.
I would be tempted to purchase this when it comes out but then the next FIFA will probably be just around the corner :)

I loved it - it's much faster, and the added control over pass power is a great addition. The goal celebration control is a little gimmicky though. The play seems much more fluid, the sounds are fantastic (commentary is absolutely lovely) and it's just very fun.

From what I've heard, FIFA09 will use the same gameplay so I'm probably going to hold on for that - but if the gameplay is the same as Euro 2008 it's going to be fantastic.

Played the demo and I actually think Fifa have finally caught up with PES. Will definitely be buying this because I don't have Fifa 08 and I really want an online football game which is anywhere near playable unlike PES.

Graphics are quality and the new pass system is brilliant but I still think the players look like **** tbh. (too shiny and fake looking)

I've been a PES player since the birth of the PS2, and every year I tut and shake my head when I play the FIFA demo. However, Euro 2008 is just fantastic. I was really disappointed by FIFA 08, because I was expecting it to be on par with the great Pro Evo, but with this new title, they seemed to have skipped the whole "as good as" step, and jumped right past it. This is the best football game I've ever played. I'm probably not going to buy it, because it's a tournament-branded game, but I'll put it on my Lovefilm list, and I really hope FIFA 09 is the same game.

After reading the above four posts i thought i'd download it and see what the fuss was about.

It's bloody gud innit. Having never played a fifa game for years, is this alot different to say FIFA 08?

At first i thought it seemed a tad slow but once i got used to it i was well impressed. I think it's shows some quality realism. Another boon was the sound effects off the ball smashing of the bar. I love that sound.

Awesome demo, I must say. Faster gameplay than Fifa 08, just right imo. Totally agree about the sound of the ball hitting the bar as well!
