Ninja Theory: PS3 is 'Sometimes Horrific, Beautiful'
Developing on PS3 isn't for the weak of heart, apparently.
By Patrick Klepek, 01/26/2007
There's been plenty of glowing praise for the PlayStation 3 hardware, but chances are the last thing you'd hear out of someone's mouth is that it's easy to work on. A powerful beast that requires a certain patience to obtain obedience, Eurogamer chatted with the co-founder of Ninja Theory, the European studio currently building the highly anticipated Heavenly Sword, about the ups and downs of PS3.

"The PS3 hardware is a bit like a journey into the Marianas trench," said the company's co-founder, Mike Ball. "There's lots to explore and the deeper you get the more varied the life forms - sometimes horrific, sometimes beautiful."

That sounds about right -- at least he's honest. "...PS3 exploration is an interesting ride for developers and that can only result in amazing games for players," he continued. Maybe Ubisoft ran into the "horrific" portion while working on Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2, considering the PS3 version's disappeared from their release list.

What intrests me is how the Ps3 will fair against the easy dev tools on the Wii and the experience developers have had playing with 360's tools for a year.

Im assuming that myth that the Wii is as easy as a GC/xbox1 to dev for.
