The Call of Duty 5v5 Championship Final must be played & results reported by Wednesday 19th March.

You are to play a best of 5 gametype series as specified in the Call of Duty 5v5 Rules (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5076).

The maps and gametypes to be played are as follows:

Search and Destroy: Crash
Domination: Backlot
Team Deathmatch: Strike
Search and Destroy: Pipeline
Domination: Vacant

Please note: we would appreciate it if all teams concerned play with good sportsmanship and refrain from the use of any glitches or cheats. Should you believe the opposition has cheated in anyway, then you must supply clear evidence so MatchBox360 admin can take the appropriate action.

Any team found fielding non-registered players is in breach of the MatchBox360 rules and will subsequently be disqualified. It is the responsibility of each team to ensure opponents only play with fully registered team mates. As such, please supply evidence (screen shot or game links) to prove any use of illegal players.

Do you normally do a 3rd place playoff in Double Elimination?

3rd place was already won by qG. It's not like iD will have to play whoever got knocked out the round before to decide who gets 4th place.

The double-elimination format has some advantages over the single-elimination format, most notably the fact that third and fourth places can be determined without the use of a consolation or "classification" match involving two contestants who have already been eliminated from winning the championship.

No, double Elimination works by the winner of the grand final taking 1st, the loser of the grand final taking 2nd. Loser of the loser bracket final takes 3rd. loser of the loser bracket final takes 4th. There's only one team in the loser bracket semis that get knocked out.

It'd be weird to have a 3rd and 4th place playoff. Another example would be, for the loser of the Grand Final to then play for 2nd place vs the loser of the loser bracket final, even though they've already secured their place.

@ Strings - in a double elimination bracket, the lower bracket final (ie Reason and qG) determines who places 3rd. The Championship Final determines 1st and 2nd. Playoffs are only used to determine 5th place and below.

The results for this tournament so far are as follows:

1st: iD MB360 or Reason
2nd: iD MB360 or Reason
3rd: qG Decerto
4th: iD TurtleBeach
5th and 6th: would have been Five to One vs Reason Gaming Live.

As stated above, this game is to be played no matter what and no default wins will be awarded so please arrange a mutually convenient time for both teams asap. The date stated is a guide to get this tournament completed prior to XL but if an extension is required until after XL then thats what will happen.

I know that if possible iD would take the forfeit win in this situation as has been seen before, but I'd prefer to see us win or lose properly as it is stupid to make your opponents forfeit this late on, even if it means us going out of our way to do so.

So try and play sometime next week perhaps, on Tuesday? Otherwise played after XL or even on the Friday at XL? But yeah, in future you should reword the rules that Dev quoted cause they seem pretty certain. Perhaps including 'until the final round(s)' in there to avoid confusion.

he runs this tournie and if he wants to change the rules at anytime i am sure he will.

u can try and report a no show for sunday if u wanna be that sad but as i said the default time is wed not sun.

and u make me laugh mellow ur team have played 4 games all the way through this tournie and got lucky in getting forefits so dont act like u put loads of effort into this tournie,

I can see how you'd get confused though. What is it to you how many games we've played anyway? I'm pretty sure we've covered this already in previous threads.

Edit: Well, as we've established, they're no longer the default times/report dates but that's what it was suggested that it should have been.

I have stated that there is no default time for this fixture, a default win will not be awarded and that the game is to be played regardless of whether it is prior to or after XL. I would appreciate it if both teams play the fixture by Wednesday as I will be extremely busy this week especially from Thursday onwards.

I make the rules and you dont, so I suggest you get on with arranging the game rather than quoting rules that were created for rounds that end on a Sunday. I will however take one of your suggestions onboard and reword the rules for forthcoming tournaments so they are more idiot proof and less likely to be taken out of context.

Obviously both teams are clearly struggling to find a mutually convenient time so it would be highly appreciated if you could come to an amicable resolution and get this game played asap.

No, you wouldn't think that tbh. The default time in most tournaments is the most neutral time, and therefore, not always the day of the report date.

why dont people just use a bit of common sense- Its the final. It has to be played at a time that suits both teams. A team cannot win the the final of a whole tournament by a default win, therefore there can be no default wins no matter what the rules are.

I honestly dont see what the problem you guys are having here. Sure the rules state Sunday 8pm is default time, but surely common sense and the fact that the default time has been changed to meet designated fixture windows throughout the losers bracket would make it pretty obvious that it wouldnt be the case for the final where its stated the game should be played by Wednesday?

I've already stated numerous times, regardless of my busy schedule or the misinterpreted default fixture time, this fixture is to be played at a mutually convenient time for both teams so I would appreciate it if both team captains started communicating properly and agree to a time and date asap.

Both team captains are to post the agreed time as soon as it has been agreed.
