Until yesterday, I'd never played Resistance online, because I watched someone download the updates for 2 hours on a 256k connection :p Anywho, I downloaded the updates last night (took a whole 6 minutes), and I'm surprised at what I found.
FFA is fudgin' brilliant! There are weapons and nades every 5 feet, all in locations you usually run straight past. This means that it can often take less than 5 seconds to get a decent gun and one or two nades. You get killed a lot quicker on Resistance than Halo, so the whole thing balances out well. Nearly all the maps are great for FFA, and most matches will only see between 8 and 12 players, so it's not like a cluster****.
I played a few Team Deathmatch and Team Objective games, but with most guns being ineffective at long range, and some nades wiping out everyone within a 10m radius via a giant ball of fire, it ended up being tedious and dull.
Anyone here agree/disagree? Does anyone here even play Resistance?
