COD4 FFA - Round 3 Groups

Please find details below for Round 3 of the MatchBox360 Call of Duty 4 FFA (all gamertags listed are correct as of 2:30am 25/2/08).

All games to be played Wednesday 27th February @ 9:00pm

Please read and understand the Call of Duty 4 FFA Rules (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5413), in particular the rules stated regarding hosting and lag issues.

Please add the MatchBox360 group representative highlighted in bold to your friends list asap. You are also advised to ensure you have sufficient space on your friends list to add all your group players. The groups are as follows:

Please note: you are requested to provide points scored per player and kills/deaths. In the event of a tie in 4th/5th place, the player to progress to the next round will be determined on their kill/death ratio.

Group C and D i think are the harder groups there. They will make a very strong semi-final...

not meaning to pry or anything but seen as tho groups B and C have an extra player participating this round are we still sticking with the four players that go through or are we allowed a fifth to go through :)

it hardly seems fair that two of the remaining four groups have an extra player but obviously that cant be helped. are we allowed some sort of advantage that will balance this out

if not, thats cool as i do realise this cant be helped.

@ fully flej lej - top 4 qualify mate (if the lobby system was better and showed kills/deaths for more than a few seconds then we wouldnt have this problem).

Yeah I understand Kon, no worrys :cool: and yeah i have seen quite a few of the players that i played with in the first and second rounds in the same group as me, is that just the luck of the draw or is something fishy going on here ;)

To repeat myself...its a straight knockout with no seedings meaning that groups are simply merged. This is the first and probably last time I will use this system for an unseeded online FFA tbh.

Yeh the system has proven its flaws.

Mega LOLz at Pacino, he should see my new and improved Scorpion, ready to cut him off as soon as he heads up to Bird Cage!

@ Kon - This time I think someone should take the photo's of each game to prevent 5 getting through; if someone is proven to have done worse than another then they rightfully come 5th and shouldn't progress. I am saying this at my own risk also as this is where I seem to linger, 4th/5th. It wouldn't be right to have a 9 player final or even semi's as at this stage people will turn up almost definately.

TBH the only flaw in this system is that it wasnt based on seedings in round 1 (ie groups were drawn at random). You will find that if we use this system again then it would be more balanced based on seedings from this FFA.

I think you're right Nyox...the semis shouldnt have 9 player groups so in the best interests of the tournament I'll update the rules accordingly for this round.

The only problem is if this isnt recorded on the initial game report screen.

Hex records the matches so he will have proof.

I take photo's, it's just up to the people in the first two groups to record the standings, a photo from your phone is good enough, this way there is no dispute.

Finally, we have some order in the world.

Now the games are going to be a lot more tactical seen as though people will have to worry about how many deaths they have, if its a close game of course :)

Reset Router Turn off all PC's and device conencted to your network AND unplug everything but your 360 boom shouldnt lag if you do then its your ISP's fault
