Warning: rather disgusting images in spoiler tags
I don't think he'll ever play again.
Wenger said his season is over, and that Martin Taylor should never play football again.
Thoughts?

Didn't see the challenge myself, these pics are the first images I have actually seen of it. Heard from a neutral and reliable source that the challenge was more late and clumsy than intentional. Still though.. Massive ouch. Hurts just to look at. Horrific.

Jesus christ his football career may well be over. I saw the challenge but it didn't look that bad

No malice at all the tackle, it was an accident. Wenger of course would say what he has said considering it's his player, but there was no intention by Taylor to cause injury - Eduardo was just too fast for him. Not every leg-break is a scummy tackle. Leigh - the tackle is all over Youtube so you can see if there was intention or not.
I don't know if he will play again - the bone that is broken is apparently the same one Larsson and Cisse broke, and they both came back to play.

Taylor doesn't deserve a ban beyond the 3 matches he got free with his red card. This was, as Leigh said, a clumsy tackle.

You mean the guy actually needed a stretcher?

Saying that Taylor should be banned for life is a childish comment.
Sure the tackle was an absolute disgrace, but i feel that a 3 match ban is sufficent imo.

Didnt Tony Adams do the same back verses spurs? Years back now.. Wenger was the one saying 99% of bad tackler's are unintentional and shouldnt always get a red card

He probably didn't see it back then.. Conveniently

or the away fan's shirts were too bright when they took the resulting free kick and thats why they missed.

Owww that is bad, maybe ppl are under the ilusion that because he (Taylor) didnt charge at him and then jump 2 footed in that its somehow he shouldnt be held accountable for his actions.
From what I've just seen Taylor had no intention in of getting the ball that was already beyond his reach, his only intention was to bring Eduardo down.
I know I'm an Arsenal fan but really from what Ive seen the tackle was not clumsy but intentional and has by all chances ruined a footballers carear. I understand a life ban for a moments madness is in-just but i would like to see a ban to be enforced to match how long Eduardo is out for. If that's a year then so be it.

I played football this morning and my mate thought he had a broken ankle from a bad challenge. Turns out he actually just has a bad sprain and possibly some ligament damage. Get home to see that this has happened. He feels that Eduardo has stolen some of his thunder.
Edit: Record figures for match of the day tonight?
Edit 2: Forget that, they didn't even show it other than once in real time. Lame.

Showed it three times ;) It wasn't intentional at all and the a 3 match ban is probably enough punishment.
EDIT: On another note did anybody see Gallas reaction after the match :) The gap is only 3 points and an Arsenal collapse is on the cards :)
EDIT: Wenger retracts Taylor criticism http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7261153.stm

Yea they showed it afterwards when it went back to the studio. Nasty, lovely bit of bone sticking out of his sock. The challenge still looks unintentional to me.. well to an extent anyway. Whilst I dont think it was intentional, it was a horrible challenge. Clumsy or not, his studs were up and his foot was high up the leg.
Gallas crying and having a mental breakdown on the other hand was absolutely hilarious.

Well to be honest Arsenal got ****ed over by the ref and it was a traumatic day for all Arsenal players, and Gallas obviously was hit hard. The gap is only 3 points, ****ing hell, if United were ahead by 2 points it'd be "WOOOOOOOOOAHHHHHHH THE GAP IS HUGE I MEAN 2 POINTS MANZ SICK WEVE WON THE LEAGUE OMG YEAH WE R T3H BEST TEAM IN EURPOPEEPEPEPPE". Laugh out loud. Let the league take it's course, what happens, happens.
On a brighter note, Bristol City for the premiership!
Edit: Wish all the best to Tottenham tomorrow, oh no wait... I don't. Letting go Jermaine Defoe? Dozey *******s. Portsmouth for 4th.

Oh great, fresh off your holiday you are back with even more rubbish than you have ever posted before. The point that people are trying to make about Gallas is that Arsenal are still top, and yet there he is, supposed to be captaining the side and leading the way, having a mental breakdown. Great example. He was acting like Arsenal have lost the title when they still lead the way. Ridiculous behaviour. You are clearly deluded in your perceptions of football fans. Either than or you have idiot fans for discussion.
For god sake don't start with the defoe thing again. Its so ****ing simple and yet you still fail to be able to see it. Keane and Berbatov as two single players are both argueably (and I use argueably for your sake only) better than Defoe. As a partnership though they are out of this world. Defoe was never going to break the two of them. Defoe is a great player. He was always going to do well at any club he went to unless it was utd. no tottenham fan wanted to see defoe go, but all accept his decision to do so, as well as the clubs decision to do so considering we have Berbatov and Keane, as well as Bent for back up. Good luck to portsmouth getting 4th, it is someones for the taking. Spurs arn't gonna make it and Liverpool look too incosistant. If someone stands up to be counted it is theirs.

Shut up, kids.
I would blame Alex McLeish before Taylor. I'm sure before the game that he told his players, "go out there and have a nice game of football with Arsenal", instead of "get stuck into them".
His comments were bizarre: he [Taylor] shouldn't have to "apologise". If I stepped on someone's toe, I'd apologise even if it was an accident. The fact that he believes Taylor shouldn't have to apologise strikes me as a man who's part of the guilty party rather than representing him.
And these Britain dipshits wonder why they've not won a single major tournament since '66.
And that referee: worse than Mike Reily. He should have put his Manchester United shirt on.

'Britain dipshits' Neo? This isn't 'Prove Yourself' - watch your mouth.
It was an accident - Eduardo was bloody unlucky. We have seen much, much worse challenges lately, that weren't apologised for - Taylors was a poor challenge yes but was unlucky to do any damage. Any neutral can see that.

Dan, have you ever played one game of football in your natural life? When you go into a tackle that high with that force with your studs showing, it's far from a ****ing accident. By your idiotic rationale, if I went into a Cafe and shot up random people with my eyes closed, it'd be an accident to you?
Yeah, try bring that to the Crown's court.

It was a crap tackle but there was no intention to injure. Eduardo was unlucky to be injured in that tackle, he was just too fast for Taylor.
