A lot of RB6 players currently play COD4 and I expect they will change to V2.
Yep...if the system link settings are good then expect it at MLG and XL ;)
Not past it yet, but they are too slow with content and will pay the price for delaying the patch for so long. If you dont play Halo3 then COD4 is the only game worth playing so RB6V2 will be a major kick in the nuts for COD4.

It has some challenges or A.C.E.S like headshotkill lv (sweet) close kills (they better have melee for this). and no stupid nooby perks (p90 and stopping power give you lot a clue)?.
perhaps some random spawning locations too i hope.

i also like getting xp and leveling up to get new gear from single player (hope thats great too) incase multiplayer becomes same. heh

I think this will be much better than CoD4 competitively the first R6V was extremely tactical and thats why it was so fun, if you had planned good tactics you could use them against people everytime and to see the results of those tactics working it was amazing.


I have alot of respect for CoD4 but i can see the CoD4 community dieing out sometime next year, it reminds me alot like the online Shadowrun community.

Either way im playing Halo 3 so whatever MLG or XL choose won't affect me.

Rainbow Six Vegas has it downside this time round, i have been playing this game for a while now and i really like it but i am a vegas Fan!.. from speaking to people at XL theyare very happy with the game and cnt wait to go home and start playing it online etc.

Few little problems were Graphics, Speed again and Lack of decent maps. the graphics have never been really gd for Vegas as thats not been a Graphical Game like COD.. maybe in the future that will change... speed well at least u can run now.. you may find it faster at home as on the Pods there not the best in the world. (i find it sound at home) and as for Maps.. these again can be realsed later in date.

Must i remind everyone that in a post i left a few days ago in the Marketplace section this games will be updated allot regular and it is been done straight from UbiSoft.. From the main menu of the game.! so hopefully allot more important patchs can be givin to us directly and Fast!

Please feel free to have ur say here as again i speak to some of the Devs and can get ur veiws noticed.

also have just been told that the terrorist AI is not very good in the Terrorist Hunt.. especially on Easy and medium .. but tbh the robots have always been flops.. lol

the first vegas was 10x the quaility of this games. the online lags like a don't know what, even on campaign, ign said it even lagged over LAN. the a.c.e.s. system is confusing but non the less a good idea - executed poorly, last i check an ak-74u waz a sub-machine gun not a long range weapon yet it is classed as a rifle. the grafix are pancake, the levels are bland and theres texture pop-in on your weapon(amongst other stuff), the game engine suffers badly, ive mostly noticed this on the Rec Level where im sure it drops to 15fps. back to online, when i go on custom match it finds no games at all! most games i do try to connect to (on qucik match folks) it days it cant establish a connection, ive capped ppl in the head multiple times (with rate of fire on single shot) and they dont hit the deck(taken a leaf out of pre-patched cod4's book) and the story line...... well theres a distinct lack of. ive spent the game chasin sum mexican named miguel, the games that crap of a story i cant even be sure hes mexican. all in all id give this a 7/8 out of ten, anyone hu doesnt look at the world through rose tinted glasses would probably agree with me on this matter, the game is POOR and in no way shape or form a way to celebrate ten years of tom clancy, it would appear they should of saved the sham-pagney for endwar. i was influenced by alcohol upon writing this but i tihnk my spelling is fairly gud, if u av other thoughts keep them to urself becoz i dont care. i'd wish to thank all the admin and operaters of XL on be-1/2 of matchbox360(like what i did ther 1/2????) to the effort put into xl and this forum and wish u a happy easter.

Thanks for your comment mate, all been noted will be taken to Ubisoft.

I can confirm that there will be a really quick update in the next month or so as thet know about the weapons, graphical Imaging i.e. when u load and weapon is not fully loaded.. and quite a few other little things most that have already been changed.

I will keep you updated just keep checking the ubisoft Update link on the main menu

Played it at XL tonight, and really didn't like it, which is gutting having loved the first.

We only played terrorist hunt, but the AI is utterly atrocious - terrorists staring at you and waiting to be shot before they react.

Graphically we all knew it would be poor, but what frustrates me is the texture pop-in at the start of each round. It would have been simple to add a 5 second screen at the start of a round to let the textures load, but instead there were at least three time
that I managed to get to the first terrorist before he had even loaded properly.

Only first impressions from a brief play, but not favourable.

I also played this at XL, and i liked it.

The graphics wernt up to the hyped standards, but i thought that it was good. I played on it for a couple of games, but then it started to bore me a little. Maybe it was just all the standing up, im going to buy it and play it at home, see if i prefer it there.

The terrorist hunt was good, becuase the terrorists flanked and used proper tactics. And FINALLY, they dont run to a door when some random "I want to be a douche to get to elite" starts to put C4 on the door and open and closes it.

I'm looking forward to it, but i just hope that there wont be any more problems.
CoD4 might storm back, if people get that bored with it, but i casually played R6V1 as a break up game in between GoW

im so glad that it was available at XL4 for freeplay...as before it i was due to buy the game but now i have realised it is one of the worst FPS games i have ever played.
the framerate is terrible and jerky, along with the movement. you have to put it on 10 sensitivity just so it ALMOST feels like a normal FPS.
then theres the weapons..along with looking like a single GIANT pixel, they recoil rediculously. surely the worlds most elite counter terrorist squad can handle a gun steadier than a 2 year old?

Working my way through campaign now. TBH I'm pretty disappointed as there seems to be no improvement on the first RB6.

Control system is as clumsy and awkward as ever.
Movement is very slow...sprint doesnt really make up for that either.
Frame rate is extremely bad at times and looks like MP with bad lag...WHY???
Graphics have not improved...WHY???

I've always liked RB6 but I'm going to struggle to play this all the way through when COD4 is so much more enjoyable. Hopefully MP will be better but from what I've been reading from other players I dont have high hopes tbh.

This game is a good game just the weapons.
They have unbelievable amount of recoil and also unbelievably inaccurate at times.
Takes 6 bursts with one assault rifle on single player to kill someone, and that is just ridiculous.

I've played MP now and I cant understand how they could release the game in its current state. I've never been so let down by a game in a long time...it looks and plays terrible IMO. I loved the first RB6V and seriously expected this to be a COD4 beater but this is a step backwards IMO. :eek:

On initial impressions it just looks like a half arsed attempt at a sequel and they havent put much effort into it. My brother whos studying computer game programming at uni insists I'm completely wrong, but I just cant understand his technical jargon when it looks and plays like a turd. I think the only thing that will prolong the life expectency is the MLG pick up...but I wouldnt at all be surprised if its dropped (depends on how much Ubisoft paid them).

I hope playing some more will prove me wrong...

Everyone was expecting a COD4 beater which it would never be. It was never going to live up to them high expectations everyone had.
Lived up to mine. A quality game. R6V was a good game and IMO it's a improvement.
The added sprint made it better to get to places. Still the same pace as Rainbow six Vegas if you switch between the two, just not the same pace as COD4.
When GOW2 comes out. Rainbow is a really good game once you play it more and more.

I think everyone was well within their rights to expect a COD4 beater - Ubisoft were hardly reserved with their hype for the game, and it's been bigged up by Microsoft to the Nth degree. I expected a game that was better than R6V - which I really enjoyed. And from what I've played, I didn't even get that.

I think Ubisoft are finding out the hard way that gamers really aren't happy with rehashes any more, no matter how good the original was. With prices being as high as they are, gamers are (rightfully) being more discerning. They won't pay twice for the same game.

the game isnt no where near as good as vegas1, i tihnk this becuase the original vegas was a breathe of fresh air into the series and fps at that time. cod took some of the ideas form vegas and made them better which resulted in a well developed and produced game, unfortunately ubisoft didnt follow suit and some how ruined a already fabulous platform by building a weak campaign, dull environments (im sure u actually see less of vegas) and mediocre online. i agree with roapdog, online is good when you get into it and with ppl off your friend list but it lacks the integral features of good online games. i for one think the biggest loss is that you cant take your party into ranked matches, but then again it wouldnt matter seen as you cant cusotm serach for rank matches as it returns no results. this is definetly going bk when gta arrives.

Ubisoft built their empire on the fact that gamers will shell out for re-hashes if of a particular formula. Rainbox Six Vegas 2 fits perfectly into that formula: a turgid FPS which has mulitplayer. Xbox Live has created a particular gamer that plays buys solely for the social aspect of multiplayer.

And in fact, Ubisoft took a hard hit when they did try to be innovative (Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and Beyond Good & Evil, anyone?)

u got spawn shield for bout 5 seconds. this is more effective than spawn killing as you can go on a killing spree if you are getting camped upon.
