Hey guys,
I've finally got my xbox live working at uni, however its really p#ssing me off.
Everytime i try join a friends game on COD it says unable to connect to host, yet i can go on find match and play a game that way.
It also doesn't let me have a private chat with this person yet it will with my little brother back home.
I've got a sitecom router, same as i have at home. It works fine at home and we used to play together all the time.
Any techies out there to help a guy in need? :p

Have you run the Xbox Live diagnosis in the Dashboard in the system blade? If so what did it say under NAT settings?

Erm dunno, I'll have to find out tomorrow. What are you looking for it to say? We can both play ok when I'm at home.

If his is anything other than Open, you might have a problem. Seeing as you can connect to everyone else and not him, it could be that.

Ok but I still don't understand, surely his must be open if I can connect to him when I'm at home :s

Not necessarily - the way the connection is routed could be completely different.

It's not all that simple. I've had it before that my NAT settings were set to open but it didn't 'act' as open. Connections are all different, just cause you can connect to him from home doesn't mean it'll work elsewhere!
EDIT: Guess I left the window open too long and Renegade already answered it..

I turn my Router off, un-connect the main ethrenet cable, turn it on without the ethernet cable in it and wait 5 minutes.
Then plug in Ethernet cable .... problem solved
