hmm... i agree with you to an extent, the campaign sucks more than i do at gears! but thats because i dont play either as they both bore me to death! an yes halo 3 was the biggest let down of all time apart from the editing and the chance to play new maps in the multiplayer! at the botom of my halo 3 case it says

i totally disagree that the two games can't be compared there both roughly along the same theme and genre, in the context of the two games your both tryng to save your self from aniliation, u can compare the multiplayer from how your matched how your ranked. what type of playlist you play on the game, its playability, which has the better competition play the feel good factor you gat from the game so dont turn round an say you cant compare them because one's a third person and another a first person. thats no valid point for any reason not to debate about a games superiority over another.

They're not similar what so ever. I've played both games competitively, and they can no way be compared. Gears is slower paced, third person, you have one life and it's purely 'slayer', you can get 'downed'. Halo is fast paced, first person, numerous objective and slayer game types, and you keep respawning. Enough reasons?

Shooting wise its just a different view point
But the way is played is very similiar u all rush in and get kills.

My point is that gameplay-wise they are extremely different, and not 'pretty much the same' as Roadpog put it. Same as with Forza and PGR, however they are the same genre of game and therefore directly comparable. For instance, you can compare Handling, Physics, Realism, Content (cars), Track designs, Speed etc.

I was on halo3 the other day an ran round with a turret on pit, i got so confused because it was in third person view, i thought i was playin a different game it was so different. i really did think i was playing gears of war and kept trying to pull my chainsaw out on my lancer.... yeah right...
