Everyone...although I have a feeling not many teams will enter so will create an FA Cup as well for single player, once Leigh discovers where our forums are again! :D

LOL ive been pretty busy, sorry. Ive been popping in and out to read the forums and ocasionally comment where spurs are mentioned but thats been about it :P. Im completely finished on friday for about two and a half weeks so I will be more readily in touch then. I prefer coming up with ideas and then letting others follow them through anyway ;).

I am well up for this and hopefully it can really take off. It just seems the perfect platform for a really good tournament. The only problem I forsee is that players of football games (massive generalisation to follow) seem to be more casual gamers that fit in one or two games between everything else. So whilst you see Cod, Halo and Gears players getting 8 people all available to play on one day, Fifa may not be quite so easy.. All shall be revealed though.

I think you could be right Leigh about the casual side of things but if we don't get the numbers on here perhaps we could get involved somewhere else for a bit of healthy competition?
You Uni boys have more time to identify potential challenges :)

Neo - I was using PEN as my training ground for proper tournament games, trying out new formations and ideas. I could have done it online, but with PEN it was a higher standard of opponent and was a more accurate method of measuring how good my ideas were.

Anyway, in one game I tried out a completely random formation to try and exploit some of PES6's more 'obvious' AI flaws, and my opponent beat me 8-2. I had beaten him a couple of times and could have done again, so next I know I've got a PM from the admin asking me why I played such a rediculous formation, and I told him that I was using a few matches to try new things. He replied "It's not your training ground, you're not welcome here anymore" and banned me.

If there are any player changes required it can be requested only up until the first game is played by your team. They will only be accepted at the discretion of myself or another admin.

After this, substitute players will not be accepted. It is up to both players to ensure they are available.

Nothing. No replies on the forum, no press releases concerning it. Nothing.

OK the servers are back up - fixtures can commence again!

Right guys, as we are all aware, the deadline for playing first round matches has passed. This means that decisions have had to be made regarding no-shows, outstanding fixtures, effort, communication and so forth.

Groups C and D were relatively simple - communication was clear and there were only two teams in each group that bothered to play, so they go through to the next round. However, with group B there is only one player that responded in the thread. With that team, they can play any fixtures after the 5th April, meaning that I can be sure they will play in the knockout round. Combined with the other teams not responding at all, I would prefer to put that team through.

Now, that leaves me with 5 teams. However, if we put through the top two of Group A that gives us 7 teams. We need 8 teams to play quarter final fixtures, meaning one extra team will be put through.

Now comes the problem - the only other team that has played all available fixtures and made the effort is the team I happen to be playing for. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a problem, but this time I am admin and ref of the tournament. I don't want it to appear as though I am doing favours for myself or for Nimac, however it is realistically the only chance we all have of playing a full set of Quarter Final fixtures.

I would appreciate a neutral member of staff taking a look at this post and the results so far, and give the go ahead as to whether my team should or should not be put through to the next round - and if not, what to do with the remaining 7 teams.
