Please read and understand both the HALO 3 4v4 and the MatchBox360 General Rules listed below:
HALO 3 4v4 RULES:
All players must be registered on this site and be resident in the UK or Europe to enter.
Any team found fielding non-registered players is in breach of the MatchBox360 rules and will subsequently be disqualified. It is the responsibility of each team to ensure opponents only play with fully registered team mates. As such, please supply evidence (screen shot or game links) to prove any use of illegal players.
Each team must nominate one player to be team captain. It is the responsibility of the team captain to communicate with other teams and event staff, arrange the teams fixtures within the timescales provided and report results accordingly. Failure to arrange a match within the given timescale will result in removal from the competition.
The tournament will follow a double elimination knockout format, whereby a loss will demote your team to the losers bracket. A further loss in the losers bracket will result in your teams elimination from the tournament.
First round fixtures will be drawn at random by MatchBox360 admin accordingly. The remainder of the tournament will follow a standard double elimination bracket
Substitutes:
- Each team may nominate up to 5 substitute players per match.
- Substitutes may only be registered to one team taking part in this event.
- Substitutions can only be made in the pre-game lobby and not whilst a game is in progress.
The tournament schedule is as follows:
ROUND 1: 12th January - 20th January
Subsequent rounds and losers bracket will be played weekly thereafter.
Please note: the losers bracket schedule will vary as the tournament progresses
Please note: if teams are unable to agree a mutually convenient time for their fixture then the default time for each fixture will be Sunday at 8:00pm. Any team who do not show at this time (as per no show rules stated below) will be deemed to have forfeited the fixture.
The MatchBox360 Halo3 4v4 tournament will use MLG v3 maps and gametypes.
For more information and to download the maps and gametypes, please click here: MLG v3 (http://www.mlgpro.com/?q=node/178925).
Please ensure at least 2 players from each team have all the following maps and gametypes available prior to the start of the tournament.
All fixtures will be played using the following format:
- Maps and gametypes will be set for each round by MatchBox360 Events Team.
- Fixtures will consist of a best of 5 gametype series.
- The home team will host games 1, 2 and 5 (if applicable).
- The away team will host games 3 and 4.
- Please ensure the player with the best connection on your team creates the lobby.
- The 5th game does not have to be played if the result has already been determined.
- If a 5 game series ends in a draw then a tiebreaker of Team Slayer on The Pit will be played to determine the winner (away team to host).
The following maps and gametypes will be used during the course of the tournament:
Team Slayer (MLG TS v3):
MLG Guardian v3
MLG Iso v3 (Isolation)
MLG Cstruct v3 (Construct)
MLG The Pit v3
MLG Narrows v3
Capture the Flag:

Please note: It is the responsibility of both teams to ensure the game settings are correct, and by playing in and completing the game you accept the game settings set by the host player.
Hosting and Connections:
- Teams are requested to ensure the player with the best connection on their team hosts the lobby.
- A 3 minute lag test should be completed prior to the start of the each game. If any player repeatedly falls into red bar then an alternative host should be sought.
- Please ensure there is no other Internet equipment active in your household and there is no one downloading using the same connection whilst you are playing.
- If a player lags out or disconnects during the game within the first minute of the game or before 3 kills have been made by a team then the party leader must end the game and give the discounted player a further 2 minutes to get back into lobby for the game to be restarted. After that minute or more than 3 kills have been made it is to carry on and the result will stand. The player who disconnected may rejoin through invites from his team.
The team drawn as the home team must set up a lobby using the above settings and maps selected by MatchBox360 admin, then invite the other team captain to join (please ensure you have sufficient room on your friends list to add / receive friend requests from your opponent).
If as the home team, there is no response from your opponent for up to 15 minutes after the agreed scheduled start time then the game will be declared a "no show", and the home team will receive a default win and progress to the next round.
If as the away team, you do not receive a friend request or game invite by the scheduled start time then you must firstly add your opponent to your friends list, and if after 15 minutes there has been no response then the game will declared a "no show". The away team will receive a default win and progress to the next round.
The wining team must report the result in the appropriate results thread in the Halo 3 4v4 Event forum. If there was a "no show" then the winner by default must report the game details in the forum asap.
Please be aware that it is every players responsibility to ensure the result is reported correctly. If you have any issues with the reported result you must contact an MatchBox360 representative immediately. We advise that you are able to provide clear photographic evidence in case the result is questioned.
If you suspect a team to have used glitches, cheats or abusive behaviour, you must provide sufficient evidence of reasonable quality and the appropriate action will be taken.
Full fixture details & results will be made available online as soon as the results are posted in the forums.
Prizes: The winning team will receive 4 x Xbox 360 games (to be chosen from a list of available titles).
