Please read and understand both the Guitar Hero III Tournament and the MatchBox360 General Rules listed below:

GUITAR HERO III TOURNAMENT RULES:

All players must be registered on this site and be resident in the UK or Europe to enter.
It is the responsibility of each player to communicate with each other and event staff, arrange the fixture within the timescales provided and report results accordingly. Failure to arrange a match within the given timescale will result in removal from the competition.
The tournament will follow a single elimination knockout format, whereby a loss will result in your teams elimination from the tournament.
First round fixtures will be drawn at random by MatchBox360 admin accordingly. The remainder of the tournament will follow a standard elimination bracket.

The tournament schedule is as follows:
ROUND 1: 12th January - 20th January
Subsequent rounds will be played weekly thereafter.

Please note: if a player is unable to agree a mutually convenient time for their fixture then the default time for each fixture will be Sunday at 8:00pm. Any player who does not show at this time (as per no show rules stated below) will be deemed to have forfeited the fixture.

All fixtures will be played using the following format:
- Each week songs will be set for each round by MatchBox360 admin.
- Fixtures will consist of a best of 3 series (* increasing to 5 game series in the quarter finals, then 7 game series in the finals.):
- The player to reach 2 song wins first will progress to the next round.

All games are to be played using the following settings:

Initial settings:
Pro Face Off - Private lobby.
Best of 3 songs (5 in the qaurters & semis, then 7 in the final)

Difficulty settings:
Round 1 = Medium
Round 2 & 3 = Hard
Round 4 + = Expert (Semi finals)

Please note: It is the responsibility of both players to ensure the game settings are correct, and by playing in and completing the game you accept the game settings set by the host player.

Hosting and Connections:
- Please ensure there is no other internet equipment active in your household and there is no one downloading using the same connection whilst you are playing.
- If a player lags out or disconnects during the game, then the game is to carry on and the result will stand. The player who disconnected may rejoin after that game has been completed.

The player drawn as the home player must set up a lobby using the above settings and songs selected by MatchBox360 admin (will be announced with fixtures) , then invite the other player to join (please ensure you have sufficient room on your friends list to add / receive friend requests from your opponent).
If as the home player, there is no response from your opponent for upto 15 minutes after the agreed scheduled start time then the game will be declared a "no show", and the home player will receive a default win and progress to the next round.
If as the away player, you do not receive a friend request or game invite by the scheduled start time then you must firstly add your opponent to your friends list, and if after 15 minutes there has been no response then the game will declared a "no show". The away player will receive a default win and progress to the next round.
The losing player must report the result in the appropriate results thread in the Guitar Hero III Tournament forum. Obviously, if there was a "no show" then the winner by default must report the game details in the forum asap.
Please be aware that it is every players responsibility to ensure the result is reported correctly. If you have any issues with the reported result you must contact an MatchBox360 representative immediately. We advise that you are able to provide clear photographic evidence in case the result is questioned.
Any performance of known glitches in the game will be classed as cheating. If you suspect a player to have used glitches, cheats or abusive behaviour, you must provide sufficient evidence of reasonable quality and the appropriate action will be taken. Gaining access to areas by jumping will not be classed as a glitch.
Full fixture details & results will be made available online as soon as the results are posted in the forums.
Prize: The winner will receive 1 x Xbox 360 game (to be chosen from a list of available titles).

Subsequent rounds will be played weekly thereafter...the sooner you play your games, the quicker the next round will arrive!

I don't get this. Here's how I translate it:

"You get 1 week to complete your match. Once all matches have been completed, the day of the last match will be a set fixture for the rest of the tournament. For example, if the last pair finish their matches on Thursday, then each round will be held on a thursday only"

but that sounds pretty odd.
