Please read and understand both the GEARS OF WAR - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 4v4 and the MatchBox360 General Rules listed below:
GEARS OF WAR - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 4v4 RULES:
All players must be registered on this site and be resident in the UK or Europe to enter.
Any team found fielding non-registered players is in breach of the MatchBox360 rules and will subsequently be disqualified. It is the responsibility of each team to ensure opponents only play with fully registered team mates. As such, please supply evidence (screen shot or game links) to prove any use of illegal players.
Each team must nominate one player to be team captain. It is the responsibility of the team captain to communicate with other teams and event staff, arrange the teams fixtures within the timescales provided and report results accordingly. Failure to arrange a match within the given timescale will result in removal from the competition.
The tournament will follow a Champions League format with group and knockout stages.
Teams will be drawn at random into groups with teams playing each other twice. The top 2 teams from each group will progress to the knockout stage.
Substitutes:
- Each team may nominate upto 3 substitute players.
- Substitutes may only be registered to one team taking part in this event.
- Substitutions can only be made in the pre-game lobby and not whilst a game is in progress.
The tournament schedule is as follows:
GROUP STAGE: 12th - 31st January
KNOCKOUT STAGE: 1st - 29th February
Players will be awarded points in the group stages as follows:
Win: 3pts
Lose: 0pts
Group stage fixtures will be played using the following format:
- Fixtures will consist of a best of 3 map series of each (home and away).
- Home and away fixtures are to be played one after another (ie upto 6 maps to be played).
- The home team will host the maps. The away team will host map 2.
- The away team will have choice of maps. Each map may only be selected once per fixture (ie upto 3 unique maps to be played).
- Map details are to be stated by the team captains in the appropriate match arrangement threads.
- The home team (as stated in the fixture) will play as COG for all games, and the away team will play as Locust.
Knockout stage fixtures will be played using the following format:
- Fixtures will consist of a best of 5 map series.
- Each team will host 2 maps (ie swap home and away after 2 maps).
- The home team will host maps 1 and 2. The away team will host maps 3 and 4.
- The away team (ie non-host) will have choice of maps.
- Each map may only be selected once per fixture (ie upto 5 unique maps to be played).
- Map details are to be stated by the team captains in the appropriate match arrangement threads. The teams drawn as the home team will have priority of map choice.
- If teams are tied after playing their selected maps (ie 2-2), then the team who has won the most rounds in the first 4 maps will host the game and the other team will choose the map. (please note: the 5th map does not have to be played if the outcome of the result has already been determined).
- The home team (as stated in the fixture) will play as COG for all games, and the away team will play as Locust.
All games will be played using the following settings:
Gametype: Execution
Selected Map: Custom Cycle (restricted maps: Raven Down, Rooftops and all downloadable maps).
Number of Rounds: 5
Bleed-Out Duration: 10
Round Duration: 5
Friendly Fire: No
Weapons Swapped: No
Please note: It is the responsibility of both teams to ensure the game settings are correct, and by playing in and completing the game you accept the game settings set by the host player.
Hosting and Connections:
- Teams are requested to ensure the player with the best connection on their team hosts the lobby.
- A 3 minute lag test should be completed prior to the start of the game series. If any player falls below 3 bars (ie yellow) then an alternative host should be found.
- Please ensure there is no other internet equipment active in your household and there is no one downloading using the same connection whilst you are playing.
- If a player lags out or disconnects during the game, then the game is to carry on and the result will stand. The player who disconnected may rejoin after that game has been completed.
The team drawn as the home team must set up a lobby using the settings above and maps selected, then invite the other team captain to join (please ensure you have sufficient room on your friends list to add / receive friend requests from your opponent).
After the maps hosted by the home team have been played, the away team must set up a lobby using the settings above and maps selected, then invite the other team captain to join.
If a 5th and deciding game is required (knockout stage only), then the host team is to set up a lobby as detailed above.
If as the home team, there is no response from your opponent for upto 15 minutes after the scheduled start time then the game will be declared a "no show", and the home player will receive a default win and progress to the next round.
If as the away team, you do not receive a friend request or game invite by the scheduled start time then you must firstly add your opponent to your friends list, and if after 15 minutes there has been no response then the game will declared a "no show". The away team will receive a default win and progress to the next round.
The losing team must report the result in the appropriate results thread in the Gears of War 4v4 forum. Obviously, if there was a "no show" then the winner by default must report the game details in the forum asap.
Please be aware that it is every players responsibility to ensure the result is reported correctly. If you have any issues with the reported result you must contact an MatchBox360 representative immediately.
Any performance of known glitches in the game will be classed as cheating. If you suspect a team to have used glitches, cheats or abusive behaviour, you must provide sufficient evidence of reasonable quality and the appropriate action will be taken.
Full fixture details & results will be made available online as soon as the results are posted in the forums.
Prizes: The winning team will receive 4 x Xbox 360 games (to be chosen from a list of available titles).
