Please read and understand both the CALL OF DUTY 4 5v5 and the MatchBox360 General Rules listed below:

CALL OF DUTY 4 5v5 RULES:

All players must be registered on this site and be resident in the UK or Europe to enter.

Any team found fielding non-registered players is in breach of the MatchBox360 rules and will subsequently be disqualified. It is the responsibility of each team to ensure opponents only play with fully registered team mates. As such, please supply evidence (screen shot or game links) to prove any use of illegal players.

Each team must nominate one player to be team captain. It is the responsibility of the team captain to communicate with other teams and event staff, arrange the teams fixtures within the timescales provided and report results accordingly. Failure to arrange a match within the given timescale will result in removal from the competition.

The tournament will follow a double elimination knockout format, whereby a loss will demote your team to the losers bracket. A further loss in the losers bracket will result in your teams elimination from the tournament.

First round fixtures will be drawn at random by MatchBox360 admin accordingly. The remainder of the tournament will follow a standard double elimination bracket.

Substitutes:
- Each team may nominate upto 4 substitute players.
- Substitutes may only be registered to one team taking part in this event.
- Substitutions can only be made in the pre-game lobby and not whilst a game is in progress.

The tournament schedule is as follows:
ROUND 1: 12th January - 20th January
Subsequent rounds and losers bracket will be played weekly thereafter.

Please note: if teams are unable to agree a mutually convenient time for their fixture then the default time for each fixture will be Sunday at 8:00pm. Any team who do not show at this time (as per no show rules stated below) will be deemed to have forfeited the fixture.

All fixtures will be played using the following format:
- Maps and gametypes will be set for each round by MatchBox360 admin.
- Fixtures will consist of a best of 3 gametype series (* increasing to 5 game series in the semi finals):

Search and Destroy
Domination
Team Deathmatch
Search and Destroy *
Domination *

- Each gametype and map is to be played twice on a home and away basis (total 6 games * or 10 games).
- The home team will host the first 3 games.
- The away team will have choice of spawn.
- Once the first 3 games have been played, the away team will host the same 3 gametypes and maps with the home team having choice of spawn.
- The total aggregate score per gametype will determine the result for each gametype.
- If the total aggregate score for any gametype results in a draw, then that gametype must be replayed if teams are tied after the 3 gametypes have been played.

All games are to be played using the following settings:

Weapon Restrictions:

Please note: It is the responsibility of both teams to ensure the game settings are correct, and by playing in and completing the game you accept the game settings set by the host player.
Any player found to be using the grenade launcher will result in a default loss for your team on that gametype.

Hosting and Connections:
- Teams are requested to ensure the player with the best connection on their team hosts the lobby.
- A 3 minute lag test should be completed prior to the start of the game series. If any player falls below 3 bars (ie yellow) then an alternative host should be found.
- Please ensure there is no other internet equipment active in your household and there is no one downloading using the same connection whilst you are playing.
- If a player lags out or disconnects during the game, then the game is to carry on and the result will stand. The player who disconnected may rejoin after that game has been completed.

The team drawn as the home team must set up a lobby using the above settings and maps selected by MatchBox360 admin, then invite the other team captain to join (please ensure you have sufficient room on your friends list to add / receive friend requests from your opponent).

After the maps hosted by the home team have been played, the away team must set up a lobby using the above settings and maps selected by MatchBox360 admin, then invite the other team captain to join.

If as the home team, there is no response from your opponent for upto 15 minutes after the agreed scheduled start time then the game will be declared a "no show", and the home team will receive a default win and progress to the next round.

If as the away team, you do not receive a friend request or game invite by the scheduled start time then you must firstly add your opponent to your friends list, and if after 15 minutes there has been no response then the game will declared a "no show". The away team will receive a default win and progress to the next round.

The losing team must report the result in the appropriate results thread in the Call of Duty 4 5v5 forum. Obviously, if there was a "no show" then the winner by default must report the game details in the forum asap.

Please be aware that it is every players responsibility to ensure the result is reported correctly. If you have any issues with the reported result you must contact an MatchBox360 representative immediately. We advise that you are able to provide clear photographic evidence in case the result is questioned.

Any performance of known glitches in the game will be classed as cheating. If you suspect a team to have used glitches, cheats or abusive behaviour, you must provide sufficient evidence of reasonable quality and the appropriate action will be taken. Gaining access to areas by jumping will not be classed as a glitch.

Full fixture details & results will be made available online as soon as the results are posted in the forums.

Prizes: The winning team will receive 5 x Xbox 360 Mass Effect Limited Collectors Edition.

havent looked at it all yet, but whats up with the 2.5 minute SnD rounds? surely 3 is better as 2.5 makes it a lot easier for the defence to camp rounds out.

McGlock
11-01-2008, 06:46 PM
also why not make it SnD only? thats what almost all teams play, theres just about one that doesnt...

2.5 minute rounds work fine for S&D.

edit: we will be doing a S&D only tournament soon but as stated from the start this is our first COD4 online tournament and the feedback from the community is that they wanted more than one gametype. Please read the threads.

SnD did get 70% of the vote but as your going to be doing an SnD only tournament soon i guess thats fine, maybe some SnD people will like other gametypes more. And other than the people posting in these threads who exactly is "The Community"?

just reading over these why do one team host all 3 then the next host all 3 again?

in a best of 3 setup why not switch host after each maps and gametype then you could get a 2 Gametype winner total without haveing to play the other gametype/map in slot 3

by what time do we need to worry that we haven't heard from our opponents - i remember our time on gamebattles where we were new and our opponents were very good at not showing up and still being awarded the win. i assume that becuase we posted in the forums we will be awarded the win if i hear nothing from the other clan - i can't even find their website anywhere

If you want to create a lobby with new host after every game then I'm happy for you to do that. The rules are stated as they are just to save you time switchin lobbies every 5 minutes.

We dont have deadlines for teams to post on the forums, however we use the evidence on the forums to decide any disputes about no shows.

I'm assuming the host team is the one drawn first and they host the majority of the fixture - ie 2 out of 3 and the away team hosts the reaming one.

How does this work, does the home team select which ones they host or is it set specific games, 1 & 3

KONSPIRACY
20-01-2008, 06:22 PM
Its all explained in the rules...

You play the same 3 maps and gametypes twice alternating host. The aggregate score per gametype is the final score.

To save time switching lobbies all the time, the rules state that home is to host the first 3 games then you switch host to play the return legs. If teams are happy to switch host after every game then I'm happy for you to do that.

So it's not "a best of three gametypes series" - like the rules say - but a best of six.

Right...

KONSPIRACY
20-01-2008, 07:05 PM
No. Its best of 3 gametypes...each gametype consists of 2 games giving you a total of 6 games yes. Again this is stated in the rules above.

Nuked
20-01-2008, 07:07 PM
it would be easier to say, play 6 rounds home and away, whoever wins most wins

KONSPIRACY
20-01-2008, 07:11 PM
Not really because the actual score is the aggregate score per gametype, not how many of the 6 games your team has won.

The rules have been up for a while now, so if you dont understand anything simply ask.

Rule update to cover fixtures resulting in a draw after 3 gametypes have been played:

- If the total aggregate score for any gametype results in a draw, then that gametype must be replayed if teams are tied after the 3 gametypes have been played.

Nuked

^^ that actually confuses me?, why not if it ends up 3-3 just have another round of snd?

KONSPIRACY
02-02-2008, 09:02 PM
It cant possibly end 3-3 as you are only playing 3 gametypes!

Each gametype consists of 2 games with each team hosting. The aggregate score (ie add them togther) per gametype is the score for that gametype.

In the unlikely event that teams are tied after the 3 gametypes have been played (ie 1-1), then the gametype that was tied must be replayed.

Infidel

so for example basically one team has to win the domination (aggregate) and lose the tdm (aggregate) making it 1-1 then win a s+d game 4-2 then lose the other 4-2 making it 6-6 aggregate and therefore a draw for that gametype and draw overall, pretty unlikely.

KONSPIRACY
03-02-2008, 11:22 AM
Exactly. Its only happened once so far.
