Me and a couple of mates have decided to do a little bit of a LAN Gaming session, just a few of us. We regularly play together at each others house and over Live, however Split-Screen sucks and it's alot better when were in the same room as mockery is great :D
So anyway...If we were to plan a LAN Session what's the Possible Problems? I have a few concerns myself.
-Min of 4, Max of 8 Wireless Controllers in One Room to Separate Xbox 360's
-Can each Xbox 360 access Xbox Live? (If the mood takes us)
-Will a bog standard router do the job?
-Would throwing PC's or Original Xbox's into the Mix be that hard?
Still undecided about the last one but it would be nice to know.
Cheers

Could be a problem with wireless pads...but just make sure you do it in an orderly fashion n you should be fine.
As long as your router has a built in switch (ie 4 ethernet ports) then you should be fine.
Obviously just make sure you have the same games if your mixin xbox n 360s (ie Halo2)
Your router should hold the connections but you WILL get lag problems with sharing the same connection if theres too many. Wireless or wired btw?

Not sure about other games, but I had HUUUUGE problems running 3 Xbox's and 1 360 in a session of Halo and Halo 2. The 360 kept losing connection, wether it was host or not.
Pads will be fine, you might need to sync them to a specific console but thats easy.
As for Xbox Live I doubt it will work too well, bandwidth is the problem with each console unable to get a decent amount of bandwidth you'll have issues.

Would the speed of the connection make any difference?
As I do have a fairly decent connection of 11-13Mb Connection, varies between the two.

Fairly decent? You probably have one of the best connections I've come across. There aren't many people that can host a 16 player R6 match with no lag.

Yea, that is a huge bonus...
I do still have concerns though about it, my mate who I'm doing it with says his mates back home (Canada) do it all the time, no problems. So maybe I'm just "worrying" too much, just I don't want to go through all the hassle setting it up to go on Xbox Live and then realise we can't. Lol

depends on your upload - no use having 13Mb down and only 128 up!

It's Roughly around the 1.1Mb Upload...
Here's exactly what I get, while on Xbox 360 and Mac Surfing and Playing was done the other day.

then i reckon you *could* be ok with 3, maybe 4 xboxs on live at once. worth a try right, especially if they are all plugged into the same router anyways!

I used to play H2 online with 3 Xboxes all playing n that was on a rubbish 1mb connection. Lag was no worse than usual n it actually used to give me host for some bizarre reason! lol :D
You will be fine with 2 or 3, i think 4 is pushing it.
