its not the router, its the line, theres nothing going trough to the exchange. damned BT, something must have happend to my line when it was windy.
Considering that telecom wires are underground all the way to the exchange (unless you live out in the sticks) then the wind will have done bugger all.
More than likely it's a hardware fault at the exchange, something probably went bang, happens up here to the cable box at the end of my street every few months (think i might be overloading it with bandwidth :P)

Two weeks ago on a wednesday, my internet went down for a good 5 hours(Im with BT) It showed everything as connected and fine, but it just would'nt allow me to go on MSN, view the Web or play online. This was when it was really windy and there was talk about the Phone services being broken because of that earthquake in Asia or something, so i thought it was ethier that or BT were doing some repairs.
Im just going to check and see if we have been upgraded though.

yes, i they did aparently. i phoned up my isp and they said that they have changed something, and i changed the settings in my router, but that didnt work at the time, maybe they were upgradeing the exchange when i was connecting but it apears to have sorted it self out.
ps i live out in the sticks. so yeah wires overhead.

Yeah because your phone line runs from your house, to the exchange to BT via south east Asia :p
