Why did you opt for a auto over a manual in the first place?

cos' that's what old people buy!!! - soz Kon

I got a Civic 1.6 VTI (manual :) ) nice quick little car. I had a 325i sport previously, very nice car, some mods, very fast until it was nicked

Clio V6.

As a second car it would be fine but there is no boot space at all, the engine is in the middle and under the bonnet is the fuel tank so not ideal for taking on a Ring trip unless you are going solo.

Well after writing off my Golf GTi into a railway bridge (dont ask!) I started shoppin around n the car I purchased was the best 325i I could find. I didnt like autos or intend to buy one as I'd never driven one before. I went for a viewin n fell in love with it...n that was that! I cant complain about it as it came from a good home n served me well over the last 4 years, but now its time for a change...n a trip to Germany! :D

Yeah I also think they are very expensive so will most likely get a Scoobie. I really like the V6 as its a proper rare car on the road, powerful n would be amazin fun to drive.

The trip to Nurburgring will be a group of us driving solo with walkie talkies! Cars on the road are currently my mates Lotus Elise, bad ass Nissan 200SX and 2 BMWs (hopefully only one n a scoobie! lol). Its also my mates 30th bday n my other mates stag week so should be a riot...bring it on! :D

Considered the Evo Wagon instead? Scoobies are really common now whereas the Evo is still pretty rare and its a bit cheaper too.

A Corsa... seriously?

Look for something else mate, the Corsa is an ancient car - the new ones use the same platform as the original with minor tweaks and a new body and interior. Go for an older 3 door Focus, or a Clio, much better cars, cheaper to run and usually insure as well.

Passed my test within 2 months of my birthday, first time, 2 minors..

I know that wasnt the thread but i just like throwing that around ;)

Currently dont own my own car as i am at university and so have very little need for one, but when at home i drive around in my dads Ford Focus 1.6. (My choice, wouldnt let him buy a car without me there)
Have driven a 1.8 focus on a track day as well so got to know the car well..

I would love to take a trip up to the Nurburgring, its something i have to do with a group of mates. Would be legendary fun. Not sure that my Focus would really cut it in the mix of those cars though! lol.

Driving an Auto round the nurburg would be horrible. So many soft corners and slight uphill straights that you really wouldnt be able to get the best outta the drive.

I'm beginning to hate Cars now, I just don't know whether I can be arsed with all this MOT, Road Tx, Services, Replacement Parts (eg Wheels), and then the Price of Fuel., It's just a giant pain in the arse now and I use to love driving, going on the "Open Road" admiring the Scenery when I would travel across country or goto Ireland but it's becoming a heart break now.
