Has anyone played this version of pes 2008? I went round a mates house yesterday to have a few games, expecting to be playing a slightly watered down version of the 360 game that I love so much this year.. Only to be horribly suprised..
Its absolutely terrible! It is just pro evo 6. I simply couldnt notice any changes. I love pes2008, It has had its critics this year, but for me it is the best Pes ever released. Playing on the ps2 was simply horrible though. (and not just because the thumbsticks are clearly in the wrong place on a playstation.. ;) ) I couldnt stand pro evo 6, it was better than fifa, so I played it, but I really didnt like it. Simply something felt not quite right. Pes2008 on the ps2 combines everything that was wrong with pes6, and then adds the odd defensive movements that are difficult to get the hang of on 2008.
I really was shocked. Even the formation menu's are the same as 6. Obviously this has no effect on the game, but it just confuses me as to why they would make the game so different. It was just an awful game in my opinion, and anyone who owns it should definitely try the 360 version. I am off to play it on the ps3 now.. I pray it is much better than the ps2.
