Final Mission

TBH this final mission to rescue VIP looks impossible to get to the end or in the time limit on veteran...is there any achievement for it or bonus material worth doing it for?

There is an achievement, don't think there is any other special material just the 20 GS achievement called "Mile High Club"

I've done it with 3secs to go, gets very very annoying and takes forever to do

Nah its not easy but if you follow the basics it shows then you will get there...just basically leg it through as many BKs as you can! lol :D

Took me hours to do this, got there 4 times, and shot the VIP in the head 4 times :S. too eager. but got it, and now have 1000 gs :D.

Im going back through COD4 on the hardest setting and its just a chore and you end having to be a camping little ***** and clearing the area before you can move through it.

Still it is fun :D

You basically aim at the first targets whilst strafing, pop them asap, leg it through the first bit jump down the stairs whilst running pop the target, pull the flash early and pop the targets run through pop the targets pull flash early then without shooting the last two [as waiting for nade] start backing out the complex, then shoot them thorough the wood.

Captain Price moans at you saying get back and shoot the targets but it makes no difference where you are as long as you get em. My best time is 13.xx seconds.

About the Mile High level, I only just managed it on Hardened, had about 2. something seconds to go before I got the the last doors.

I tried it on Veteran a few times a while ago, couldn't even get in to the room where the side of the plane blows up, tried to flashbang but still kept getting wasted.

Doesn't really matter, it's an achievement for the Hardcore geeks, sorry, gamers. :p

Charge past the bloke coming out the loo, go through the conference room tot eh left, stop and pop the one guy - flash out, then run all the way through them into the next section, sit in front of the chairs on the right and fire at the people behind you.

Push up slightly to where the wooden wall is on the right - and hide for a few seconds, wait for the cabin to be de-pressurised then flash out, shoot the guys and get on your knees and crouch walk between the chairs to the right, there's normally a guy sitting there or a bloke who comes down the stairs - just have to be lucky versus them.

Run up the right hand set of stairs [left as you look up them] get a flash bang through the door then go mad spraying through the wooden wall. Dive to the ground in front of the wooden wall in the middle and reload - get health back etc, go through the door you just flash banged and grab the flashbangs on the counter, flash again and run through just giving people spray shots to stop them firing at you - should have 3-8 seconds on the clock depending on how fast you were. If you're worried about shotting the hostage drop to prone and ankle shoot him.

When trying it it Console you need twice as much patience as P.C ..... All of which i dont have

i did it by rushing forward and letting your squad mop up the enemies behind you. its neccessary for yout to use flashbangs and it doesnt matter if you use all of them up on the bottom floor because there are some on the second.

It's the same game and if they use it pretty much the same its only due to patches and so on and so forth that makes the pc game so much more Advance than consoles
but id rather play with a pad that vibrates than a keyboard and mouse which i think is piss easy.

Ok so you say they are the same [consoles and pc] then say they are different. And we know the PC game is patched past the console version. + mouse sensitivity which you didn't mention.

I still cant finish last mission. My figures hurt and my eyes are bleeding from not blinking.
I must be over the hill as everyone has completed cod4 1000/1000.

Anyone got any tips? please dont say keep playing it. i must have put 20 hrs into it(thats 14hrs more than the rest of the game).

i think the approach of 40yrs young is finally taking its toll.
