Original Xbox Games For Download

Big news incoming from Microsoft today: the next update to the Xbox 360's firmware will offer the opportunity to download games for the original Xbox hardware, from fan favorites to cult classics alike.

Beginning December 4, the "Xbox Originals" feature will offer a catalog of last generation's best titles, starting with Halo, Psychonauts, Crimson Skies, and Fable.

Games will cost 1200 Microsoft Points, or $15, each.

Microsoft also said that in celebration of Xbox Live's 5th anniversary, all Xbox Live members will get one free Arcade game download on November 15. Gamers who have been with the service since its launch in 2002 will get 500 free Microsoft Points.

Get in, altho I'm not sure of the date when i signed up, I'm sure it was near the beginning tho, can remember playing the only two live games loads, moto GP and mech assault !

I wonder if , if you have the orig, you could play against players who have the arcade version ?

Its a good way for M$ to make more money tho, id put money on there being achievements for them also.

I think it's going to be Carcassone (unless your in Korea, then its Hexic 2...) I really wana finish Psychonots, but wont bother DLing it if there isn't some sort of remastering or enhancement...:cool:

That would be the dream..

Unfortantely I just cant see it. Im pretty sure Microsoft know what big news it would be to the community if they were doing Halo CE online, so I think they would have milked it for everything it is worth, advertising it anywhere and everywhere they could.

It would make for a great surprise though if they did.. Wouldnt get your hopes up however.

Go out and get it on the PC, its not exactly a demanding game, and with the new maps / no auto aim and servers, it beats the hell out playing it on xbox.

Agreed it is amazing on the PC, there isnt many UK servers though and about 80% of the servers have **** gametypes like "Power weapons only" starting weapons.

Hi friends! This is something encouraging for me indeed! Have always been a xbox fan but never owned it. My dream is going to be fulfilled this time as I have saved enough to get myself a xbox 360. The offer which you said begins from 4th Dec how long would it remain? Or is it going to stay forever? This might be enough encouragement for some of my other friends to get it too.
