There is one somewhere. Although having said that when I tried to go on it the other day I couldn't, so maybe it was shut down?
It was like Arcane Industries or something, port 6667?

We've done this twice now, no-one ever uses it :(

I'll sort out a channel on a 'proper' server if needs be though :)

Its needs to be more accessible to the average joe and guest to the site. A nice big button to gain access to it on the main forum page would do it (Y).

The problem with irc is that people join the server, see that no-one is there, and leave. If people stayed on for longer when it's empty then more people would join and stay.

make a channel on Quakenet.

No need to make a server, just see how it a channel runs on Quakenet (get L bot and ops sorted).

(Quakenet is heavily used for PC games in the UK/EU, US players tend to use Gamesurge)

Yeah, not doing it on my machine anymore... I'll sort out a channel tomorrow, get the Java client installed and stick a link on the top bar (if I get time)... :)

don't need mirc, - easier ways of doing it,

>: Internet Based Client
>: Download the IRC pug-in for firefox :D

Nah, i quite like mIRC, the thing is i've downloaded it and installed it like 4 time already (the little people Jay made me do it). It's just the hassle of doing it again on my new laptop.
