Right so my team are one of four in the winners bracket, what happens if we lose do we drop down into the losers bracket?

If we win do we go into the final??????

Im really confused lol

Yeah if you lose your current fixture you will drop down to the losers bracket where you will potentially have 3 more fixtures to get to the final.

If you win, then you will have one more fixture to reach the final.

So why is this tournament knockout, so even if a team gets knocked out they can still get to the final and win?, isnt this a bit unfair on the teams that worked to get to the final?

I mean no disrespect by this I am just asking because I am a bit confused.

Its basically double elimination knockout. Only one team will make it to the final without losing, the other team will come from the losers bracket which also includes the losing "semi-finalist".

Some ppl agree with it some ppl dont...its basically an american format that MLG adopted n use in their tournaments. I've been using this format for all recent online events as a test, but it doesnt seem to be as successful as it is at XL as ppl just dont seem to understand the concept. For our forthcoming tournaments we will most likely stick to single elimination and champions league.
